Sketch boxes are cool, but at 1:70, I doubt many of us will get one. Do the other sets have Attacky Packages boxes or are they the generic Topps On Demand boxes?

I was just thinking that this would be the same as the All New Weekly Series Wackys where the cards and checklists could be proofread before they were released.

The weekly sets are the exception. Whereas those are being produced in real time due to the schedule, sets like Attacky Packages are typically in the works for a couple of months.

It does say "while supplies last" and presumably the sketches (and sketch boxes) are already done, so I think the series does have a limit.

I ordered a set. I didn't see this in the dozens of spam emails Topps sends me every week. All the headlines I saw were about baseball, which I ignore. The only reason I stay subscribed to the emails is for the nonsports stuff.
I like the glow in the dark set concept. I miss glow in the dark cards from the eighties and nineties. I also miss hologram cards. Those don't show up in sets very often anymore except for some of the Upper Deck Marvel sets.

I have a lot hologram cards - think the first were ST-TNG from Impel? Then there were the Season 1-7 sets, and I also started in on Marvel and DC sets. Maybe some from Comic Ball? Maybe I'll start a thread.

Sometimes I find Topps emails in my Junk folder, but it seems safest to check in here for new releases.

Yes, limited quantity.
Sets with sketches (or limited hits like autographs) will be the same.
It’s rare these days that a set will not sell out well before the clock reaches zero

I don't get any emails from Topps anymore. When I used to get them years ago, I only got sports card emails even though I've never ordered anything sports related from them.
I guess the same person who handles their email department is the one who's in charge of making sure that the puzzles line up correctly with the numbers in a 9-pocket sheet, the fronts and backs of the coupons aren't oriented in opposite directions, and buying 10 packs of weekly series gets you all the ludlows and the coupons. It's Just a guess.

Unlike the Weekly sets, where they print after demand is known at the end of the week, this one said "While Supplies Last." If I understand correctly, these are already printed, and are limited by how many sketch cards were made (sketch boxes in this case, too). The last GPK set that came out with sketches sold out in something like 3 hours.

I think you have to have one now to order online. I've had an account with them for years (pre-binders). I used to get the emails, but then they suddenly stopped.

I also thought we had more time. 2 weeks ago my dog was diagnosed with epilepsy. Between the meds and vet bill I was broke and had to wait till I could re up the wallet when it was already to late. I have a few things I would really like to say to "Flopps" but for now i'll keep my mouth shut.

Had you asked, I would have ordered an extra set for you with a separate shipment. As it is, there are a few of us here that will have some extras after we open what we ordered.
Between sketches, sketch boxes, and the Mars Attacks fans, this was destined to sell out.

I think the last Attacky Packages On Demand Set earlier this year sold around 1900, resulting in approximately 600+ complete sets so it smashes that.

Overall, I'm pleased with the cards in the base set. However, my collation of the chase cards left much to be desired.
Over half of all my coupons were the first 4 cards of the set. I have FIVE extras of each!!!
Received 3 of the 4 Glow in the Dark Cards with FIVE extras of G2.
Ludlows were just a little better, but not by much.
Didn't get a sketch box and didn't really get any sketches that really impressed me.
On to the trading psot..... :sad:

I got mine today. I couldn't remember, but I only bought one set. It's a great looking set!
If collation is that bad, I doubt I'll be pursuing the coupons. I got four and two ludlows. I'd have been happy if they had just made a sticker of the Alien attacking the camel instead of creating new backs.
It also looks like Topps followed their weekly series pattern by making card 10's back showing the completed puzzle of 1-9, so if you put them into a 9-pocket sheet in order, the second puzzle is shifted. I certainly wouldn't have minded if they'd have moved this back to sticker 19, especially when all 20 were sold as a set.

I saw one on Ebay that got snatched up quick - I forgot to put it on my watchlist and it was gone before I could copy the picture!
I think it was a pupsi mashup but someone else indicated that it was Crash and they are correct - similar color scheme. Nicely painted as I'm guessing they all are -

That's exactly what I was thinking! I was picturing the buggy on the GWB :] :] Of course, if it's rush hour, the buggy would be going the same speed as regular rush hour traffic, so no problem, right?
My cards did finally make it to NJ (took 2 days). My new estimate is Friday, which is better, but still not right. Packages routinely get from their Edison facility to the local facility overnight, and are delivered the next day. Oh, well, I'll keep telling myself that maybe there's a cool sketch box.

It seems like dealers are the ones getting these boxes and then they just go on eBay, where the real collectors will have to shell out exorbitant prices to get one. I wish there was a way to get them to the real collectors rather than someone who's just going to sell it. I guess when America turns socialist, they'll be distributed better.

Well it's an auction, so it might go lower than the last one. And, I expect that bigger orders are more likely to include a sketch box. Quite honestly, if I luck out and get one of these, I might be tempted to sell or trade it, too.

I hadn't even realized so many people had already received their set(s). Just checked tracking and it looks like my set arrived in my city by 9:00 this morning. Guessing I'll get it tomorrow. Looking forward to it!

I'm sure that it was done randomly and the bigger orders have more ping pong balls in the hopper, so they'll get a box, and I'm not willing to shell out $200+ for one. I'm just saying that it stinks for the collectors who would love to have a box. I'm also a Coca-Cola collector and they offer at times a yearly subscription to try out new products for $10/month. Since it is limited to just 1000 and Coca-Cola is a big name, it typically sells out in a few minutes. Then each month on eBay, tons of these show up at $35-50. I definitely support Capitalism, but the collectors suffer when someone buys only to resell and profit, but it's definitely better than Socialism where the hard working suffer.

M2 has a ton of Coke Diecast. very strong seller for M2. Sold at WalMart.

What kind of new Coke products?
It's typically 4-5 smaller bottles (6 oz?) of new Coca-Cola product flavors. It could be something like Mango Coke or Vanilla Sprite or even something in their bottled water products like Dasani, Smart Water, etc. The purpose is to get feedback from the subscribers before mass producing the products. Imagine if they'd have done that with New Coke before releasing it in 1985. That turned into a disaster that laid a golden egg when they brought back "Classic Coke." As a collector, I'd be torn between actually trying them and keeping them unopened.
Here's a photo of some my Coca-Cola stuff. I have very little that's truly "vintage" because I'm just not willing to shell out the money for it.
After my mother died, and I was cleaning out her house, I rediscovered my love for collecting Coca-Cola. Some of this came from my dad's collection. I think I continued to collect it because when my dad would take me to get a hair cut as a kid, the barber shop had a Coca-Cola machine with the smaller 7 oz bottles, and he would always buy me one. My parents also had a friend who worked at the local Coca-Cola bottling plant, and I remember his bringing us cool stuff that's now very collectible. I guess I've been a fan ever since. My bucket buy would be an operational vending machine from the 1960s or earlier.

Well, my 10 packs arrived today. I cannot believe that out of 10 packs I didn't even get a set of GIDs or coupons. 5 of the same GID card, 4 of another, and 1 straggler to get me to 3 of 4. Gotta go check out the trading thread; Lord, I hope people here need G3 and G4! My coupons are almost as bad.

I’m thinking G1 seems to be on the rare side based on forum members trade lists and eBay sales.

Don't feel so bad, RawGoo, I also bought 10 packs and did not get an entire coupon set of GITD set. So where is this trading thread???

My 12 packs showed up and I didn't get all the glow in the dark cards either. 6 of one, 5 of another... terrible. Spending $500 and not getting every card is indefensible. I could spend less than $500 and get every card on eBay. I'm done buying multiple sets from Topps. This, coupled with the continuing debacle of the weekly ANS sets.... they've lost me.

You realize we're at Topps' mercy, right? I mean, it's either:
Get this fabulous set! (and it really is, the quality of all the stuff we're getting these days is top notch)
But pay through the nose because we need to make money and accept how we're selling it!
- OR -
You'll get nothing and like it because it doesn't make us anything.
We don't have to buy into the chase stuff. I'm trying to wean myself off of Ludlows. I never cared about back variations other than coupons, but then I thought "It's only a small number to find". And then here we are.

As an unabashed capitalist, I understand completely. I also understand that I can just keep my money in my wallet.
I don't blame Topps. They're in business to sell as many cards as possible, by whatever means at their disposal. Doesn't mean I have to buy them (anymore).
I apologise. I don't mean to hijack this thread by bitching about this aspect of things. That's for another thread! ;D
To that end: this is another GREAT set of Attackys!! I love them. Very happy with the cards, art, gags, etc. I can't believe Neil keeps finding ways to Attacky-ize old Wackys. I say keep 'em coming!

Attacky Packages - great set, probably the best one yet!
Beautifully done, well printed, and I like the Red Ludlows and coupons,
and especially the Glow in the Dark cards.
My one complaint, and it may not even be one, as I have a hunch.
Has ANYONE gotten a GITD card # 1 ? I doubt it was even made, honestly,
I got quite a bit of sets and not one # 1 card, too strange.
Otherwise, Topps and Neil, take another bow, a BEAUTIFUL set, in fact, I'd say it's "Out of this World".

I agree 100%-best mars set yet! Out of this world indeed. Kudos to everyone involved in the making of this set. And please keep the large sets coming!
