This has already been mentioned in another post, but thought I'd make it official: I'm going to put my Halloween set on hiatus this year, due to upcoming projects with Topps. The good news is that there's plenty of treats in store for the 2020 holiday! More about that soon...

Wasn't there some talk about a special Topps Halloween set this year? Not sure if this was going to be a weekly set or new Postcard set or something totally different. Any details would be great. Halloween is only 2 weeks away!

IIRC, Neil said he was making another Halloween set in 2021, being that he's busy with some projects for this year and all.

At least IMO the inclusion (in this case omission) of sketches doesn't determine the worthiness of purchasing a set of postcards. Have we quickly forgot how the sketches have evolved from the first set up until the most recent sets?

Thanks Ernie!! I almost missed this release. What are people ordering? I purchased three sets hoping for three different glow in the dark cards and three different Bio cards. Neil, Please advocate for them to take care of those who order three sets.

This release looks to not be selling too well; based on the lack of discussion here. I suspect the lack of sketches will cause it to end up as a very low production set. I hope some others have bought in so we can trade to complete the different elements of this set.

I think it could be the way it's being sold, coupled with the fact that we're getting new sets every week, so most collectors wallets are running low. The die hard collectors probably purchased a set (or three in hopes of getting everything). The dealers have probably not purchased too heavily due to lagging sales of the weekly series in the secondary market.

Hi Andrew, honestly, I wouldnt use this discussion thread as a yardstick for sales. In fact, i believe theyre doing quite well. As a matter of fact, ive seen a lot more discussion outside this forum than usual (maybe an indication that there's more options available to wacky fans these days). And yes, i agree that sketch cards would've been a nice feature, but I'm sure everyone will be pleased with the current contents. Sketch cards will come into play again in the future, but in the meantime, I think you'll find the 2020 release super fun, well-done and very collectible .

Well, there was only 43 minutes left in the 7 day offering period, so I think everyone had a more than fair chance to order these over the week. And it's good that Topps didn't get stuck with a lot of leftovers, as I expect that the GID postcards, and maybe the masks, were a little more expensive to produce.

Ummmm.....NO. It wasn't fair. I asked Neil in a private email about 2020 Halloween wackys. Didn't hear nothing. So naturally I assumed that there would not be any 2020 release. So now I log on and find out I'm too late? People don't have time to log in every freakin day give them a chance. Most disgusted.

I'm sorry you didn't know about this. Part of my reference to "fair" was that the offering was up for pretty much the whole 7 days, minus just 43 minutes, as opposed to the Attacky Packages 4 set last month, which sold out in just 3 days. There was also the GPK Krashers set in August that sold out in under 2 hours, even before the daily Topps email went out. That time, if you took a lunch break from the internet you missed out.
Anyway, I bought some extra postcard sets in case anyone here missed the 7 day window. Anyone who missed out, shoot me a PM and I'll do my best to help.

you are welcome to feel that the postcard thread highlights the Halloween release as that is how I take your snarky response but several thanked me for reviving this thread and we can see people missed the Halloween set so exactly what is the point of your snarky response?

All good David! You've been such a great support over the years and i know how much the Halloween set means to you! I'm hoping next year we can launch a bit earlier so everyone gets the word. I think in the past, we'd start advertising in August, which seemed pretty early at the time, but in retrospect, worked out really well. This year's been a little unusual, as im sure everyone will agree.

I absolutely LOVE the Halloween sets ever since the 3 titles from 2009 all the way to the 2013 sets. I was so bummed when 2014 did not come with a Halloween postcard set. :'( Thinking back on it, it played a part in my recent hiatus from the hobby: ANS11 and the Chrome stickers were my last hurrah. 'Course I missed out on the 2019 Halloween comeback and I would have hated to miss out on 2020.

Wait a sec....I was just going through my wackys during this aforementioned period that never found their way to my binders....and there are my 2015 Halloween "pack o fun" packs with the cereal parodies. I forgot about these! I gotta get 'em in my binders. Now I remember....these were produced by Neil himself! So....was there a 2014 Halloween pack by Neil? I don't think there was by Topps. How about 16, 17, and 18?

Only two non-Topps series were made by Neil alone: 2015 Halloween Pack O' Fun and 2016 Halloween Pack O' Fun. A third non-Topps series, 2017 Halloween Pack O' Fun, was planned (and presumedly finished), but Topps heard of it and told Neil not to release it. To this day, it remains unreleased, no one besides Neil knows what's in it...and he can't tell anyone what's in it, either.
Since then, there's been a new third non-Topps series, Halloween 2019, and a fourth one, Halloween 2021, is being planned even as we speak.

It's the first in a series of Halloween cards Neil did. Here's the contents:
*Bat-O-Honey (Bit-O-Honey)
*Frying Pan Demonhead (Ferrara Pan Lemonhead)
*High Seas Kraken (Hershey's Krackel)
*Skorch (Skor)
*Snake Charmers (Assorted Charms Hard Candy)
*Mummy Way - Tut Size (Milky Way - Fun Size)
*bonus card: Lost Cabin Eeriginal Syrup (Log Cabin Original Syrup).
A second bonus card was planned but pulled due to printing issues. I hope we'll get it in Halloween 2021. Oh, Neil?
Sketch cards also came with it, too.

If anyone needs a full Halloween 2020 set, let me know. I have an extra set including base set, all 3 artist bio cards, all 3 masks, and all 3 glow-in-the-dark postcards. The only thing short of a master set are the 3 orange border postcards.

You really can't see it in the photos, but the orange bordered cards also have a metallic, glittery kind of sheen to the entire card.

May be a dumb question as this is the first Halloween set I have gotten my hands on directly from Topps, but I seem to have gotten 2 small artist cards? Are those the bio ones? I thought it was only one per set.

Yes, Bloodweiser Ontap, you got lucky. Unfortunately, someone else probably didn't get one.
I got mine today. I bought 6 envelopes and got at least one of each card, including the orange borders. I got some extras of some of the cards, but no extras of others. So, not perfect collation, but better than I've been getting with the weekly series.

I missed out too, man, as I haven't been able to log in for a while either. So, you've got company in the boat. Looks like it was a good one, too. Really like the 'masks'. Great idea, Neil. Back in the days when we flew from all over the country to attend Parsippany, Philly, and Chicago shows & reunions... I always thought a Halloween Party with everyone dressed as Wacky Pack characters would be fun. Thinking about some of the characters, a lot of the old-timers on here wouldn't even need masks. (hah!) But I won't name names.

I think so. I got 7 packs (one shipment of 4 the another of 3) which netted one orange set.

The best Halloween item Topps has produced is the Binder IMO. The artwork on it rules.

That's good, I think. Since Neil's bringing out Halloween 2021 (the last I heard), maybe there'll be another postcard series next year. If so, I'll have to be ready for it.

I mentioned this before somewhere; on eBay someone was offering all three Postcards binders (the red Postcards one, the yellow Postcards one and the orange Halloween Postcards one) each for $199.95 plus $14.95 shipping.
The orange Halloween Postcards binder is gone, so I presume it's been bought. The other two, however, have not been bought - yet.

It is ridiculous; anyone can see that.
Whoever got the Halloween Postcards binder, I hope he enjoys it and he has plastic pages to put the postcards in it, as I think when it was originally made, this binder may have had no such pages (please correct me if I'm wrong, though).
And you're right, people do like the 3-ring binders and yet Topps only made them for ANS7-ANS11 and OLDS 1-OLDS 5, plus the special ones for the 1st-16th Series and a non-existing 17th Series.

I've got a great idea for one more Halloween Postcards series and that should do it.
Since Ghostess Fright Pie. Bricks Man-Made Brick and Mortar Caramels and Bots, which were all done as two separate three-in-one postcards with all-black backgrounds, finally became postcards with normal white backgrands and normal black borders in 2020 (even if they were just a glow-in-the-dark subset (which should've been numbered G1, G2 and G3, not 1G, 2G and 3G...but I digress)), how about doing the same thing to these six Halloween Wackys that were all done as two-in-one postcards with all-black backgrounds (just not with the glow-in-the-dark feature this time around):
*Starbeast,
*Tootsie Troll,
*Hairi-Boo Ghost-Bears,
*Cracker Drac,
*Strike,
*SlayDay.
There wouldn't even have to be any Wacky Halloween Artists cards this time, because five of the six listed here have already been done as such (the exception is Hairi-Boo Ghost-Bears).
