Title: ANS7 Retail Tracker
Post by: DrDeal on August 20, 2010, 12:47:19 AM
Given the imminent release of Series 7; I thought it would make sense to post:
1: What store locations you saw product in?
2: What was there?
3: What you purchased?
4: What you left behind so others can drop by that store and hopefully pick up some cards?

I will provide some good intell on where one could find some cards once these hit. Together we can help each other locate these cards.

Regards,  DrDeal

When does Target fill their card section? I can't remember if it's on Friday's or Monday's. I have a feeling we might see these this weekend. I can't believe D&A haven't sent me notice. That means they don't have them yet or know when there shipment will arrive.

I have heard nothing yet from them as well.  Hopefully we will soon.

I am going to run out at noon today and hit 2 Targets and 2 Walmarts. I actually have 3 of each store within about a 10 mile radius.

I recall the Target card being stocked on Thursdays.
my bet is comic shops on Wednesday 8/25 and Target/Wal*Mart on Thursday 8/26
it seems there are always a card shop that gets it early than that though. So probably a rare sighting here and there on Monday or Tuesday, with mass sightings late in the week.

Sometimes Targets will have all their unopened boxes piled up next to the cards waiting for a guy to stock the shelves. I have had an employee search those boxes a few times. My point is if they are not on the shelves, look for unopened boxes close by.

I think they said that shipping begins on the 25th so wouldn't that mean that no product would be on shelves until the following week?

D&A just emailed me on how I wanted to pay the balance. I just spoke with Kelly there and she said they are shipping today. I ordered my orders one overnight and the other 2nd day air so she said that one order will go out Monday (2nd day air) and the other on Tuesday (next day air) because they can't arrive before the 25th. So it looks like I will have 3 cases waiting for me on Wed but I can't open them until Friday when I return from a biz trip! Damn! I spent the extra money for overnight shipping and such when I could have had free shipping and had them at my door next Friday when I got back. :'(

Given the imminent release of Series 7; I thought it would make sense to post:
1: What store locations you saw product in?  Target, Phillipsburg, NJ
2: What was there?  1 Full 48 Pack Gravity Feed Box.
3: What you purchased?  Full Gravity Feed.
4: What you left behind so others can drop by that store and hopefully pick up some cards?  0.

Very cool to score some cards prior to the release date.

I'm not sure anyone is checking Walmart because of the past disappointments locating them there.  Some of them barely have a trading card section.  The one closest to me has them behind a counter so you literally have to ask the clerk to grab them for you!

ANS7 are in Louisville, KY. My wife just picked up 6 packs for me while she was at lunch. She opened one pack and got a silver wack-o-mercial....so she says. I thought they were red parallels. ??

I've been checking the wal*marts near me. guess I'm lucky - as there are 3 within 5 miles of my house and all 3 have decent card sections and have consistently carried wackys. Nothing Wacky as of yesterday though.

The Walmart by where I work has nothing. Target had only the feeder packs for sale.  Got my order from dacards today and bought another box from my local baseball card/comic store.  Need the blister packs, cereal boxes, and bonus box.  The cereal bpxes are not at my Walmart or Target or A& P or Super Stop & Shop.

Gravity feeds have turned up in Las Vegas!
The chasers are so confusing I don't even know what to look for yet. But I got a card with a glittery border. It's like a bike reflector. Looks kinda bad. Also the pink borders look bad. But the base set looks really good. There are some in this series that absolutely blow me away in terms of rendering. Some of them are the best since Norm Saunders.

Hit three Targets in NJ today and Nada. East Hanover, Union, Watchung. Watchung had a spot where a Gravity Feed had been. Union had six Excell boxes I had a kid cut open but no luck.
My buddy checked Bridgewater this am and saw nothing.

Got my order from dacards today and bought another box from my local baseball card/comic store.

I believe this is the first notice that the cards are showing up at a card/comic store.  In fact, the first notice they've shown up anywhere other than Target.

All the cards look good except the ones with the sparkle borders are very tough to see especially in bright light. Topps is now placing an advertisement card randomly in the packs?

I managed at least one set of the base 55 cards, one set of the 20 commercial cards, a complete set of 10 foil card, a few pink parallels as well as a handful of the silver flash foils.

Sounds like the same contents of the top loader I plowed through last night, except I got about 5 base sets! No gold, no auto, no sketch. Oh well. Nice to have all of the chase cards out of the way in one sweep. I'm happy to get a double on the Icicle Playing Cards classic foil. Always loved that card! I'm not going for a complete set of the pink or silver bordered Wacko cards. Now to get the binder, cereal box sets, bonus box, and blister packs. Then I can put a fork in it until ANS8...or OS2!

I hit 2 WalMarts and 2 Targets on the way home from work today. Carlisle/Mechanicsburg,PA area. Nothing at any of them. I asked an employee at the 2nd Target about when the Excell person comes in. They checked with someone in the back and were told that the woman that stocks the cards sometimes only comes in once a month. This does not bode well for me. I may go into Wacky withdrawl.

Interesting.
I've kept an eye out in the card section at "my" Wal-Mart for many years (more than 5) and have never seen a thing - ever.
I wonder what factors affect (effect?) the decision if a Wally World carries Wacky Packages or not. I assume Wal-Mart sales drive that decision?
Or maybe it's the vendor / distributor who decides what lands on Wal-Mart shelves. I believe people have said it's "Excel".

nothing at the comic shop - as expected.
the Target I went to yesterday actually *did* have a gravity feed - and even today it was still in an Excel box and not up on display. Looked like the card area was still a work in progress. I grabbed 12 packs. Absolutely perfect insert distribution.

I pulled a silver border sticker, but the left portion of the sticker and most of the border is not adhered to the paper backing. It seems as though there is no adhesive on some areas; has anyone else seen this with the sparkle border stickers? The packs I bought from a Gravity Feed box had both randomly inserted advertisement cards and randomly inserted blank cards affixed with what appears to be a white, square security sticker.

The white security card is a mystery to me. When I bought the feeder box at Target, the cashier rang everything up but did not run them over the demagnetizer that deactivates the security strip. She counted the number of packs I had, entered them into the register and then placed everything in a shopping bag. I paid and walked out of the store, which entailed walking between the large security scanner at the door. If the security cards in the pack were worth a crap, shouldn't that scanner have gone off and started ringing every security alarm in the place? It wasn't until I started opening packs at home that I discovered there were security cards in the packs and I wondered then about the lack of alarms. My question is why insert security cards that don't work? Maybe we can all go to Target and steal packs without fear. haha

the Target in Salem NH had them, and I picked up quite a few packs to whet my appetite.

There are a lot of great gags there!  I got a few pink foils and one or two silver ones, no golds.

I did set off the security alarm at the door, but that's because I only gave the cashier one pack and told her I had 20 in all, and she just scanned one 20 times.

I had said that I was on the fence about buying ANS7 but now my mind was made up for me.  My wife called me from Target this morning and told me that she had seen a lady with a shopping cart full of trading cards and noticed that there was an ANS7 gravity feed in the cart.  She bought the whole gravity feed for me and brought it to me here at work.  So now I have a full gravity feed sitting here on my desk!

There's just one gravity feed and it was still not out on display but appeared to be in the Excel discard area along with a Twilight gravity feed. It was kind of sad. I would have taken the whole feed, but the face was somewhat crushed
If you don't find a nice gravity feed LMK.  Since I bought all the packs that were in the two I found, the clerks let me take the feeds, and they both seem to be in nice shape.  I also lucked out, and the clerk in the one store let me take the Excell ad sheet!  Hell, it said 'remove by 8/15/2010', and it was 8/25/2010, so I was saving them garbage, right? :)

thanks! don't worry though, I've easily been finding 4 gravity feed boxes to add to my collection for every series since ANS2. There are a LOT of Targets around here

What to do?  Work..... or crack packs?!?
Work.....No Brainer

On Wednesday, I got to the local Target just as the guy was setting out the gravity feed on display.  I asked the guy if there were any more Wacky items, since he still had a number of cases he was unpacking.  He said no, but that they got new stuff in every day (!?) and that I should check back.  I bought 15 packs and left.

Today (Friday) I went back on the slim chance that they'd gotten in any bonus packs or anything, and found nothing.  That's NOTHING nothing, as in not even the gravity feeder made it 48 hours.  There was just a blank bit of wall where a gravity feeder had once hung...

I am really hoping that the blisters and bonus boxes (and cereal boxes) show up at Target next week or shortly after.  Didn't this happen with FB, just gravity feeds at first?  I'd buy from Topps directly if they had a free shipping promo, but without that, I'm going to wait.

I have finally found ANS7 at the Target in Mechanicsburg,PA. Only a gravity feed. Had 2 packs missing when I got there. I bought 10 and left 36. I ended up with 43 out of 55 base cards(multiple doubles), 7 out of 20 Wack-O-Mercials(again, multiple doubles), 2 foils, 3 silver borders, 2 pink borders, and 2 foils. No golds, auotgraphs, or sketches.

I think the blisters will surface at WalMart. I just felt like getting the 3 bonus stickers from the bay for $9 as I would like to finish up the bonus stickers in the coming week. My Topps order will have the others (Binder/ Bonus box/ Cereal).  Now I just need to score a Gold Sparkle and this set will be done for me. No more sketch hunting for me. I will wait for the next postcard release to score some sketches  :)

Trying to avoid the spoiler threads until my box arrives tomorrow, so let me sum up...

Nothing at Wal-Mart near me... along with the box I ordered through DaCard, I ordered the two cereal box packs from the Topps website as well as that collector's album. Will probably check the Target in my parents' hometown when I head up for Labor Day weekend for blister packs and bonus boxes.

Looking forward to my box arriving tomorrow and the stuff I ordered from Topps should arrive Thursday. It's gonna be a Wacky week!

1: What store locations you saw product in?  Target, South Brunswick, NJ
2: What was there?  1 Gravity Feed Box with 22 packs.
3: What you purchased?  22 packs.
4: What you left behind so others can drop by that store and hopefully pick up some cards?  Nothing but the Gravity box.

I have finally found ANS7 at  4 Targets in Miami, Fl ONLY, no Wal Mart or K-Mart. Only a gravity feed. Seems like I was the first buyer as the checkout girl said she had not seen them. Lucky for the Gravity Box- It next to the CRAZY Band section- so kids will see them. I bought 8 packs each from 4 stores, I felt lucky. I ended up with all 55 base cards(multiple doubles), 6 out of 20 Wack-O-Mercials(multiple doubles), 5 foils, 5 pink borders, and 1 sparkly foil. No golds, auotgraphs, or sketches.

I hope most shops are not like the one I go to.  The only Wackys that will be there at the shop I go to is the sole box I pre-ordered.  If it isn't a collectible-card-game (Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic the Gathering, etc.) they will not order any beyond specific requests.  What a shame.

Here in backwater Terre Haute Indiana, we have 2 Walmarts and no Targets. After work, I stopped at one of the Walmarts for non-Wacky reasons. As I walked past the cash registers, I spied the trading card section so stopped to take a look. Much to my surprise, they had a gravity feed box. Since I purchased a case and have already opened those 8 boxes, I only grabbed 5 packs mainly for the wrapper variations. I was very surprised they also had 4 of the cereal box sets (2 of each tray type). Since I have some of these on order from Topps, I left them for some other surprised shopper. Just amazed to see these here.

Yep, the cereal boxes were with the other card boxes although they were not prominently displayed in any fashion. They were placed on the shelf with the edge end forward and pushed back in the shadowy depths. If I hadn't already seen the pictures of this item on the Topps website, I don't know if it would
have drawn my attention. Since I have 2 of each tray on order from Topps, I fought the urge to purchase, although that old Wacky collectors' adage kept running through my head... "One in the hand at Walmart is worth two via USPS from Topps"... or something like that.

Almost exactly the same here except I was one title short of a complete base set. So are there no

it's kind of a combo of the two. It's the cleaned up bright red version that was in flashback, but they darkened the side panel. It doesn't have the gradation of shading like the original. It's fully darkened.

looking at the cereal boxes closer, most have been tweaked a little bit. Mostly because the box is wider than the original art. Mostly it's subtle, like completing the Triks rabbits ear and foot, or extending the bowl of brains on All-Brain.
But there is one other wording change - Awful Bits does not say Brittanica.

Has anyone seen these in target or wal-mart? Are they just on line? I have not seen these anywhere except ebay?

all the finds are being discussed in the ANS7 Retail Tracker thread - you should keep checking there.
but to answer your question, no, not yet. Topps expects them tomorrow, and target and/or walmart will get them this week.

That certainly explains why I haven't gotten my shipping notice yet (I ordered a bonus box, one of each cereal tray and the regular series 6 postcard set).
I got my shipping notice from Topps this morning.  8)

Wacky Packages All-New Series 7 Bonus Box @ the Topps Online Store is listed as OUT OF STOCK!

I'm glad I got my 8 boxes ordered and on the way! I also got 6 blister packs from a friend who got a bunch on eBay.

We have too many ANS7 threads at this point and it's getting confusing to keep track of!  I would think 3 threads should be fine.  One for spoilers, pictures, etc, one for retail tracking, and one for general comments about the series.

I got my shipping notice 08/31/2010, but when I run my UPS tracking # through the UPS site I get ">>> UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Please verify your information and try again later". So my order is not even in transit yet. Check yours and see if UPS has your stuff yet.

Just to update that I found the double-deep (not double-wide) gravity feed at a Wal-Mart and the Cereal Box trays as well.  I bought five packs from the Gravity Feed that all had security cards in them and found a red-border Wack-O-Mercial in each pack.

I also bought each variety of the cereal box trays.  I think these may be the coolest Wacky item that Topps has ever produced!  They had three of the Weakies variety and two of the Cap'n Crud.

I also went to a Target just a block away (the same Target that my wife bought me a gravity feed from) and all they had was some ANS2 Cling packs.  I guess they only got the one gravity feed and my wife snapped it up.

I got six packs at Wal-Mart today...all with the security strip. Each one had a red border Wack-o-mercial in it. Are we seeing a trend?  My Target still hasn't restocked since I wiped out the gavity feed box last week. That sucks, because I would much rather go to Target than Wal-Mart!

Since I don't care for the Wack-O-Mercials, I may buy all the non-security packs to better my odds of getting classic foils!!

Just got back from a wacky run.

The Targay closest to me does not have the display for the excel sell sheets, but it did have a gravity box which I scooped up along with the 45 packs inside.  No other wacky merchandise.
Next to WalMart which has not had anything in years and years....no change...still nothing.
Then on to the 2nd-closest Targay that does have the excel sell sheet display.....no Wacky pack excel sheet!  Waaaah....I have gotten every Wacky Pack sell sheet (that I know of) from that store!   This store also had a gravity box with no other wacky merchandise.

I found the gravity feed boxes at 2 Walmarts in my area....but NO cereal boxes!!!! I wonder if some idiot who delivers the cards to both stores thought it was actual cereal and moved them somewhere else. I even checked the other checkout lanes to see if cards were in 2 spots, but still nothing!! Argh! Oh well, I'd rather buy them from Target, along with the bonus boxes and blister packs. Walmart has always been inconsistent with their trading cards.

Tom thanks for the tip!!!!

I made a 2nd wacky run tonight hitting some of the not-so-close Walmarts and Targets.  Did not find a sell sheet, but I did find at a Raleigh Walmart  the short gravity feed and the cereal 3-packs!!  There were 36 packs in the gravity feed and I bought them all. 8)

I'm traveling so had a chance to hit a Target.  (So to speak.)  I picked up 11 packs from a gravity feed - no other wackys, ANS7 or otherwise in sight at the store. Pretty much the odds you'd expect when I opened the packs.  Three foils, three red borders, one silver....and one gold!  Choppertone.  Even though I don't plan to collect golds, I gotta say, it was a rush.  Given what these things are fetching on ebay at the moment, I don't think I'm going to be able to resist throwing it up to see what happens.  What do you guys think, BIN, or take my chances with an auction?

Auction it. Looks like there are at least 2 bidders fighting for each one, and I think this is the first of that title up, but I may be wrong. Good luck!!

You shouldn't be re-reading posts because I have only merged 2 topics. If you have read any of the posts already you won't have to read them again. I suppose it depends on the last time you read each post but just click on the 'new' button next to a thread and you will start reading where you left off. You may have missed some other stuff in another thread. You can also see what thread merged with the other because the subject line will be different.  It's really not that big of deal. I just want to keep everything clean compared to the other forum where people would start the same topic over and over again.
I don't plan on policing the forum that much. Sometimes topics can get out of hand and we need to merge them if they are dealing with the same subject. Hopefully it will help keep everything a bit cleaner than seeing 10 new ANS7 threads when clicking on 'show unread posts since last visit'. It's too hard to keep track.

My thought is if you want to have each card in the series with different borders you might want to keep it. Otherwise I would do an auction to see what happens. Look at the BIN gold on ebay now. No one has purchased it and it's been there for one day. I think the golds have an established value of around $400 but bidders might not want to jump at a $400 price right away. They love the chase to see if someone will back down. I would do an auction for 3 days. Any more days could kill the momentum at this point.
If you really want to sell it NOW is the time to do it to reap the rewards. Any waiting could cost you

Thanks for the advice Brad!  (And thanks to you too Liptorn!)  I did put my Choppertone up for auction, we'll see what happens.  I'd love to have an example of a gold flash foil for my collection, but I just can't justify it with ebay bidding going as high as it is on these at the moment. Honestly, I'd even be happy with the $175 that I opened the auction at.  Anything above that will be icing on the cake.  Clearly the gotta have it now mentality is causing some people to make crazy bids -- that and the lingering thought that you'll get stuck without the one last sticker you need if you're trying to collect a set.  I guess making sure you avoid that situation is worth a lot of green to some collectors.

I am going to go through a pack opening session this weekend - got my hobby box from the comic shop yesterday and my Topps order (two cereal trays and one booster) arriving tomorrow.  If I hit a gold, I too might consider putting it up on the auction block.  I'd be thrilled to get back my small investment in this series if possible.

I also found the same type gravity feeder and cereal box trays today at the Wilkinson Blvd Super Wal Mart in W. I found blister packs in the wild today! Super easy to see which bonus card is in the blister, as the cards are face up underneath the packs. Lots of free space so it's easy to see the B1, B2 or B3. And before anyone asks, yes, these packs have the chase cards.

and you'll never guess where I found them....

seems like every time I go in one of the stores the cards are in a different area. This time they were all on two standalone 4-sided displays in the walkway near where cards have almost always been carried. (one was sports, the other yu-gi-oh, wackys, etc.) It may depend on the store layout that you go to - as this store has always had the cards near the front right of the store. I'll be heading to another Toys R Us this weekend, one where the cards have always been near the back of the store on the right and see what they've got. I'd really like to find the blister tray!

How the heck do you guys open these packs without destroying them? I had to cut the tops off a few just to get a good wrapper. They basically shred when opening them by hand.

If you cut the top off that's not really a good wrapper!!  I try to get a small opening by pulling them apart (like a potato chip bag), and then I slide in an envelope opener and gradually pry the seams apart on both sides.  I would say around 1/3 come out nice.

certainly jacking up the prices, probably trying to help the bottom line and stay in business. my local store was very quiet, only a few shoppers. and no registers were open, with just the manager at the returns counter to ring up my sale.
the cereal boxes are $14.99 at walmart. I hope the blisters show up elsewhere for $3.99.

If you cut the top off that's not really a good wrapper!!  I try to get a small opening by pulling them apart (like a potato chip bag), and then I slide in an envelope opener and gradually pry the seams apart on both sides.  I would say around 1/3 come out nice.

Exactly what I do. The foil packs are much tougher than I originally thought. I can tug pretty hard to get that small opening started. With a little practice, I found I could usually get 7 out of 10. I also found if I did not get that opening easily  at the top within a few seconds, I would flip over and open from the bottom. I was not able to, however, figure out a way to open the cellophane wrappers in the cereal boxes without ruining them.

My package arrived from Topps today - got two different cereal trays and a bonus box.  Down side: the series 6 postcard set I ordered was not included in the box.  Luckily, a quick call to Topps Customer service rectified the situation - the postcards will be resent (the service rep was very apologetic about the packing error).  Very pleased.  I plan to do some pack and box opening tomorrow.

I stopped by our Toys-R-Us on the way home to see if they had anything. I was surprised to see they
had 4 of the cereal trays and a hanger with blister packs. I picked up the last 5 blister packs, mainly to get the wrapper variations for the collection and a few extra bonus cards. The collecting and RPG cards are in one long aisle at this particular store. The blister backs were almost all the way at one and the cereal boxes at the other. What are they thinking?

I just got back from 2 Walmarts and they both had the shorter feeds and cereal boxes. I bought both feeds and 4 cereal boxes. I didn't get anything except for 2 silver Wiiz that I need. The cereal boxes are fantastic except all you get for chase cards is one red per box. Anyone else get anything other than a red border chase from the cereal boxes?

Nope, just the red border chase cards. I would rather have had the chance at a foil, sketch or such than the red chase.  Other than the boxes themselves I am not overly impressed with the contents inside.

I've left all of my cereal boxes unopened but they are calling me.... and I will probably answer them soon enough.

I was a little surprised that both sets use the very same SKU.  I figured they would have separate #s for inventory purposes.

They are pretty small.  Here's a photo to show scale.  Our cat is 4 feet tall   ;)  [expando]http://photos.smugmug.com/photos/993690320_qcgTB-L.jpg[/expando]

It was stated awhile back that the cereal boxes would *only* have the red parallel as the chase, but the topps online store just says "a" parallel, which could be confused to mean a flash or gold flash.
There are no odds on these trays or boxes, so the contents must be fixed. Almost surprising there is even a red parallel at all.

Even though it's fun to find things in the wild and it's cool to see what other stores have, I don't think I'd even bother stopping at a TRU knowing they have nothing different than other stores and what they do have is more expensive than elsewhere.  Where are the TRU 2-packs when we need something to get excited about (as far as TRU is concerned)?

I must admit I am not familiar with the TRU 2-packs. The blister packs at TRU did contain two packs in them though. One pack would contain all base cards and perhaps a binder advert card. The other pack would contain one red border card.

please post a pack code if you could - as the bonus box wrappers have always been different than the other ones.
also, could you check on that wal*mart wrapper and post the #, as all others reported so far have been silver inner lining

I found about 30 packs in a Walmart on LI last night, that same square style feeder.  I couldn't believe how well hidden the trading card section was here.  It was on the backside of an aisle facing a wall and had carriages full of items blocking them!  It literally looked like they didn't want anyone to find them.  If you're going to do something do it right.  This section is obviously an afterthought by Walmart.  I asked a couple employees where the trading card section, and one told me they were all gone and she didn't know if they would come out again, and the other just look puzzled like she didn't know what trading cards were.

I also found cereal boxes at TRU (in Danbury, Ct.) and blister packs. I bought some blister packs, but left the cereal boxes for others.  I had already had bought the cereal boxes from Wal-mart in Fishkill, NY and saw cereal boxes in Dixon City, PA, and Matamoras, PA. as well as the short gravity feeds in all 3 of these Walmarts.  Nothing in the Walmart or Target in Danbury/Bethel, Ct.

BTW, I only need one more wack-o-mercial silver flash card: #11 choppertone; I have a #15 silver flash card of Pounds available for trade. Send me a PM is you are interested.

I was just in a Wal-Mart in the New Haven area where the card section was behind a check out register and literally blocked off with metal gates.  You aren't allowed to approach and have to tell the check out person what you want.  Then he/she has to try and hunt it down for you.  Bizarro!  Luckily the wackys were visible so I got one of the cereal box 3-packs.  There was one of the cool Wal-Mart gravity feeds, but no way was I going to be able to get away with taking that (and I wasn't up for simply buying all the packs in it.)  That's the strangest set up I've ever seen.  But it did ensure the cards and stickers were kept in neat array.

I have checked the Walmart right by my house no less than 10 times, and nothing.  That 'card section' is a half an aisle long, by an active check out register - it's not blocked off as you described, but to look at what they have, you have to squeeze between the display and the carts and customers.  Guess I need to try a different store.

I found cereal boxes for $19.99 at a ToysRus and I left them all behind, looks like none had sold yet.

I found blister packs in Toys R Us and grabbed three of them, one for each bonus sticker as you can clearly see the bonus sticker number.  There were B1's and B3's that I left behind.  $4.99 per blister.

it's because the numbers are in sequential order with the 9 piece puzzles.
the packs have always had strings of cards in a row, but it wasn't obvious unless you looked at the back of the cards.

2nd Target in Fort Collins had nothing but a single opened ANS2 Box today. Yes, ANS2. WT?!?

Toys r Us last week had zip. Manager never heard of Wacky Packages. I resisted telling her their history, instead opting to silently pity her ignorance.

One Wal-Mart had a single small (48 pack?) gravity feed last week which I took 16 packs from. Haven't been to the other two nearby Wal-Marts, but am planning to soon. Going on a road trip in a few weeks and hoping to do some more recon.

Is there some reason Topps/Excel/Whomever couldn't have a searchable site to find out what nearby stores carry precisely which items? Geez, it's 2010 for cryin' out loud!!

Getting frustrated on the Blister Packs. Don't understand why ShopTopps didn't have them so I could have included them with my order (which arrives tomorrow!). Any chance someone would buy me one of each and send 'em to me? Happy to pay shipping/tax/etc. Was annoyed that the only eBay listing I've seen so far for the three blister packs is $25 + $5 shipping, which translates to $10/blister -- ouch! Want to find them in a store if possible, but starting to lose hope... Maybe I just need to wait a few weeks. ;)

No blisters or bonus boxes in OKC.  Wal-Mart has the cereal boxes (can't find them at Target).  If I remember right, it took a few weeks with FB 1 and 2 for the blisters and bonus boxes to show up after the gravity feeds.

They quit selling them after a day or two.  I wonder if maybe they were pulled because the retail stores that sell the bonus boxes complained about them being available at the Topps store.  Personally, I would rather buy them online than have to search Walmarts, Targets and TRUs looking for them.

They quit selling them after a day or two.  I wonder if maybe they were pulled because the retail stores that sell the bonus boxes complained about them being available at the Topps store.

Never thought of that. That is probably the reason. We'll I hope they start showing up soon, us Wacky people don't like to wait too long.

Got my two bonus boxes and cereal boxes from shoptopps. Really like the bonus cards from both.

Unfortunately, the base set cards in both bonus boxes have "dents" on them (looks like it might be from the inside cardboard which matches the pattern). Ruined all of them imo. But the WOM's and foils seem ok (weird eh?).

BUT, the odds and randomization on these packs sucks! I bought two sets of the CB's (two of each) and out of all those cards (168) I couldn't put together a single base set! I have multiples of many cards (obviously -- sometimes five of a card) but then just one or two of a handful and zero of a couple. WT?!? I would have thought buying one set of the CB's (one of each) would give you at least one base set. Geez. And only pinks from the CB's (one each individual CB) -- no foils.

From the bonus boxes I pulled three foils, but am STILL missing one of the 10 (I have 30 foils!). And pulled one silver (luckily a new one).

So 4 CB's and 2 Bonus Boxes gave me one silver. Ouch.

Love the bonus cards though. :)

I haven't opened my cereal boxes (yet) but will likely do that this weekend.

The good thing to do with dinged or bad corner base stickers is to use them for actual sticking.  Decorate a notebook or use them to make homemade magnets.  That's what I often do with the less desirable of my pulled stock.

I've been noticing for a few months that the local Best Buy has a small card section stocked by Excel just outside of the line area for the registers.
So I stopped in today to see what they had...   and they had Wackys!
It's just an ANS7 Gravity Feed (target style), but still cool to seem them at more than just target and wal*mart

With this type of news I'll be watching for Wacky Packages at Home Depot!

As if I needed another excuse to go to Best Buy. Terre Haute, the city we live closest to, is about 30,000 strong and just got a Best Buy in the past year. I almost broke down when Circuit City went bankrupt as it was about the only decent electronics store in the area so the Best Buy was much anticipated.   Prior to its arrival, if you needed something like a wireless router, Indianapolis was the closest place at about an hour's drive from here. You east-coasters may take the proximity or such neccesities for granted. So the shopping center that Best Buy moved into is now officially one of my favorite spots around. Our family is involved in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and geocaching is one of our family hobbies. The same shopping center also has a Gander Mountain (hunting and camping suppliews); a Buffalo Wild Wings, and the best local Pizza joint in town. My car just naturally wants to turn into the parking lot when I pass by on the way to and from work.

In my store, the trading cards were outside of the candy section near the checkout counters and were on a rack facing towards the inside of the store near the Returns horseshoe. But I think there a few different standard store layouts, so look around

Anyone looking for the Blister Packs - I have finally found them at TRU today. ;D

If you want them, PM me and I'll just charge you the same price that I paid for them plus shipping to your area from south Jersey. I have 3 that contain each bonus card B1, B2 and B3.

No bonus boxes at TRU, Walmart or Target today 9-10-10.  :'(

I still haven't found a blister pack or a bonus box in the wild. I was out today and nothing. If I didn't get the 2 bonus boxes from Topps and the blister stickers from ebay then I would have never had the bonus cards. There is one ToysRus but I haven't been to it to find blisters. TRU : Blister Packs and Cereal Boxes ($4.99 and $19.99)
Target : Gravity Feed packs ($1.99)
Wal-Mart: Short gravity feed packs ($1.98)
Best Buy: hope to check today

The clerk at Walmart thought I was nuts when I bought the whole gravity feed the other day, but I wanted the box, and didn't feel right leaving all the packs laying loose.  No golds or sketches, but I did get one of my last missing silvers, my last missing red, a full set of foils, 5 full base sets, and 2 full Wacko-mercial sets, plus extras for sticking and trading.  And I wanted Walmart to know that Wackys will sell!  I am planning for any future retail purchases to be just bonus boxes or blisters, if those ever do show up at Walmart or Target around here.

With all the extra ANS 7 cards I have, I'm going to make little bundles of 3 cards with a rubber band around them and a note "HAPPY HALLOWEEN-Get more Wacky Packages at Target and K-Mart and complete your set!" and drop them with candy into Kids bowls. Perhaps others on here could do the same and spark some new life into the hobby. Every kid I show the cards loves them

I've been giving Wackys out with candy at Halloween since ANS1 - the kids seem to like them!  I've also gotten my hairdresser's son hooked, as well as a neighbor's granddaughter, and a co-worker's daughter.  Just recently gave a stack of ANS7 to the woman in my mom's hospital room for her granddaughter, who had been there to visit a few days before - she thought they were great, and was sure her granddaughter would love them.  I truly enjoy spreading the Wacky love!!

Definitely appreciate it and am going to post my needs/wants for pinks/silvers/foils (I have lots of extras) as well. I'm still a bit stunned that after 32 foils I don't have a single set of 10! So will trade to get it.

I have lots of base sets from the half-case I bought from shoptopps -- what amazed me with the cereal boxes was that buying four of them (two of each type) wouldn't give me a single full base set out of 168 base set stickers (14 x 12). That seems ridiculous. To me buying one set of A and B should automatically give you a full base set plus some extra cards.

I'm glad to have the bonus stickers from the CB's (and HAD to get Cap'n Crud!), but since it appears you can only expect regular/pink WOM's and nothing else, I won't be buying any more of them. If they had better odds for the silvers/golds/etc, they'd probably sell like crazy.

Out of three sets of cereal trays, I got three base sets and an almost complete 4th set, but I didn't sort the trays individually, so maybe just two cereal sets would have been similar to your results.

I agree, if the cereal boxes had the potential for other inserts, I'd buy more of them, but as it stands, I got my cereal stickers, and I'm done with those.  Can't bring myself to toss the cereal boxes, so it's probably just as well, or I'd be hip-deep in those as I love the special cereal stickers!

Although I'll get my ANS 7 in a few days (arriving in the snail mail, from Brad's vault), I noticed my Target got ANS 7 in last week, and I ‘ve been snagging a few packs here and there, rationalizing that I buy a lotto ticket every once in a while. (I wonder how the sketch odds compare to the lotto) Yesterday my wife went to Target and I gave her $5 (I'm cheap) and asked her if she could use her good mojo to carefully select me a few packs with one that had a nice color sketch card. I didn’t get a sketch card but I did notice some QC issues that some other’s have brought up. This is how this sticker looked coming out of the pack – sorry for the blurry shot.

I am concerned that the poor odds on getting a good chase card in this set will drastically reduce the amount of packs sold to the collector audience. I have purchased about 80 packs and am done. I purchased around 300 packs of FB1 and 2. If am in the majority and collectors make up for about half of typical wacky pack sales then this release will not do as well as the past few releases.
Just guessing on the percent of sales that go to collectors. Anyone have any good data on the mix between kids and collectors for WP sales?

I’ve been trying to figure out (in my head) how much money I’m comfortable spending (losing) cracking packs and not getting a sketch. Right now I’m at $100 but I could be convinced to spend $200, I just need a good excuse. The lower ANS7 odds are inhibiting my attempts to rationalize me spending more, and it doesn't even matter how much less lower is.

I don’t understand. When you say “do as well”, what do you mean? The amount of time it takes to sell out of ANS7 versus other series?

I think you got some sweat on it from your work out. You keep your wacky's in the gym  :P :] :P

Also I made fun of the people who wait in line at 7-11 to buy lottery scratch off cards at a $1 a pop. Yet look at all of us spend $5 bucks here and $100 there, hoping for that elusive Golden ticket- A SKETCH CARD. The odds are equally stacked against us like the lottery.

If you are thinking about a sketch you would have to be incredibly lucky to get one spending only a few hundred dollars, so you most likely would be setting yourself up for dissapointment.  I pulled a sketch with my 3-case batch ($970.00) and even that was very lucky.  That bought me 576 packs and the odds for a sketch are 1:2,340 packs!

They are 5 dollars (4.99) + tax. Seems a little steep compared to the price of previous blister packs, but you get 2 of the 1.99 packs (8 cards each) along with the Bonus card so it's a fair price.

Unlike some of the other forum members, I have only seen Blisters at TRU and Cereal Boxes at the same TRU. Our Walmart and Target only has the gravity feed packs - no bisters or bonus boxes. I checked our K-mart today 9-13-10 for Bonus boxes and there was nothing.

;D I did buy up an extra batch of 3 blister packs for anyone on the forum that wants to buy them. I'll only charge you what I paid plus the actual shipping to your location. Just shoot me a PM if you want them.  I have one set, 3 blister packs each contains 2 packs and one bonus card B1, B2 and B3. They are 5 dollars each (what I paid 4.99 + tax).

Thanks for the offer and information.  I'm going to keep looking in the wild.  It is a bit annoying this many weeks after the release to not be able to find them, but I have to believe they are going to turn up.

They are 5 dollars (4.99) + tax. Seems a little steep compared to the price of previous blister packs, but you get 2 of the 1.99 packs (8 cards each) along with the Bonus card so it's a fair price.
no, not a fair price, those things are really only $3.99. TRU is overcharging to try and save their sinking ship.

Have they been jacking up other prices lately?  I've really cooled it with action figures and similar items, so I haven't been checking them out.  I was very disappointed with what they were charging for ANS7 Wackys.

Did Kmart have any blister packs?  Has anyone found blister packs in the wild?  I seem to recall only TRU had them, but they were $5 instead of $4.

I bought a stack of blister packs from K-Mart yesterday.  I was hoping to complete the most basic of the chase card sets, but no such luck...

Um, blister packs of GPK Flashbacks, that is.  Yeah, the ones that got released back in January.  That's how up-to-date Kmart is these days.  I bet if I looked hard enough there, I could find a loaf of Wonder Bread with the Wackies in the package...

No, Now Dead- I did get lucky and found some new ANS7 Blisters in all 5 of my local K-Mart along with some Bonus Boxes in Miami. Perhaps some of the other K-Mart across the US are neglected and still have old Wonderbread Wackys :P

Still haven't seen a bonus box or blister pack in the wild. The Kmart here still has GPK Flashback blisters, so who knows if they may get ANS7 Wacky blisters.

Strange that the bonus boxes are not being stocked at the same time as the rest of ANS7. I know for every other series, if a Target or Wal-Mart carried the packs, they also had the bonus boxes.

I called Shop Topps this morning and the guy said they are not re-stocking bonus boxes. They are sold out and thats it. :(
I got an email from cardgarys who has them for $9.99 plus ship.

That is WEIRD !  O.K. So I ordered my bonus boxes from Card Gary's to make sure that I get them. Did he get all the stock of the bonus boxes and is he the soul distributor of these? That would be also Strange. Nothing against Cardgary's, he has always done a supurb job of business with me whenever I bought anything from him. I just find it really strange about the distibution of the Bonus Boxes with this series.

Are they trying to make the series less popular by making everything so hard to obtain? Is ANS 7 the swan song of the ANS Series?

For me personally, ANS7 may really be the Swan Song of Wackys.  I have given up hope of getting any cool or rare cards from these series as I am not going to spend thousands of dollars on them.  If there is an ANS8, I may just buy a base set for $5 and be done with it.

So if Topps sold out of these, is Target is not going to be getting these now? I sure hope so. Not sure why Excel Mktg. is dragging their feet with these! I already paid $5 more for the cereal box sets than I wanted to at Toys R Us!

I think CardGary raised his price on this! He wants $11.97 for a bonus box on eBay now. Where can I get one for $9.99?

Have they been jacking up other prices lately?  I've really cooled it with action figures and similar items, so I haven't been checking them out.  I was very disappointed with what they were charging for ANS7 Wackys.

Our TRU was charging $4.99 for a blister pack and $19.99 for the cereal boxes.  I haven't seen the blisters anywhere else, but they're $14.99 at Target and on the Topps website.  (By the way, I noticed that there are two different purple trays for those cereal boxes - one that's unpriced, and one that has $14.99 pre-printed on it.  Target has the priced trays; Topps has the unpriced trays).

As for TRU, I've noticed that they overprice nearly everything in the store.  My wife collects Barbie and Bratz dolls, and those are typically $2 or $3 over Target/Walmart.  Same thing with Pixar Cars toys - always more expensive.  If they have something you can't find anywhere else, it may be worth the upcharge.  But I always look at Target or Walmart first.

After many attempts to find them there, I finally found ANS7 (a gravity feed only), at Shopko.  Shopko is a discount store based in Green Bay, WI that has stores in a number of Midwest states.  The gravity feed was like the one at Target, which makes sense as Shopko always had the same bonus boxes as Target did.  For those who keep track, the wrapper code is 41116 00763 and it's the "white", not foil wrapper (not sure if that's the same as Target or not).  I was quite disappointed not to find cereal or bonus boxes or blister packs.  There are 3 other Shopkos in town, so I'll probably check those at some point to see what they have.  This is quite weird that it's become so hard to find this stuff in the wild.  I am driving down to Chicago this weekend and know of at least one Kmart along the way, which I'm planning to stop at.

D'oh!  The wrapper code on these is the same as the one that's appeared at Target (0-763-54-01-0).  I mistakenly posted the UPC code.  Guess that shows you how much attention I pay to such things.

Bustedfinger found a totally purple Gravity Feed box at a dollar store. This one is way cooler than the Target box which is the burgundy color with an ANS 7 type sticker on the front.  I've since looked around my area and found none. I think she said it was found at a Dollar Tree. I visited 2 of those in my area and also a store called 5 Below and found nothing. Even been checking the local food store as there is a vending machine with some older series ANS, but no ANS 7 dollar packs yet.

Sales of the ANS 7 at my local Walmart seem to be very slow. It' been a week since I was there and it looks like the same amount of packs in that Gravity Feed since I was there last. They did relocte their cards to behind the cashier. I don't know if this is affecting sales or maybe the 1.99 price to much for some? They also have no blister packs, cereal boxes or bonus boxes.

What are you doing with your gravity feed boxes? Displaying them somehow – if so, how?
One might make a nice storage case for my granola bars at work.

When I go into Target these days I’m compelled to buy a few ANS7 packs for fun, just to test if my psychic abilities can score me a sketch card (no luck yet). My 7 year old son has never been too excited about Wacky Packages. He thinks the stickers are kind of neat, but I believe he humors me a bit because he knows I like and collect them. While in the checkout line in Target last weekend, he saw my ANS7 packs and said, “Dad, that says, MOUNTAIN DUDE! It’s supposed to say Mountain Dew!!” It was like something clicked and he got the gags, to a degree. He also liked Baby Battle Pop and was cracking up at it.

I walked out of the store with a huge smile on my face.

This whole ANS7 bonus box and blister pack dry spell is quite irritating! I had no choice but to purchase a bonus box from CardGarys for $11.97 BIN. There are five Dollar Tree stores in Terre Haute. I stopped by 4 of them on the way home from work tonight. Only one of them, the last one, had any ANS7. There was
one gravity feed box with 7 packs. I asked if I could have or even purchase the box and they refused saying that had more packs to put in it. So why did they pull any out in the first place? Things that make you go Hmmmmmm?

Forgot that bit... these are the 4 sticker packs with code 0-763-89-02-0. I don't know if there is such a thing as a Super Dollar Tree but this particular store
is about 3 times larger than the others in town and carries much more goods. Now that I think about it, it would have made sense to check this one out first
and I would have saved some time.

This is really strange. Why would there be such poor distribution of the Bonus Boxes and Blister Packs for this series. Between the difficult odds of pulling certain inserts and now the difficult distibution. Sounds like this ANS 7 is the new age O.S. 16 to me.   Anyone else see this ?  Or am I just over thinking it?  :^)

It initially was sumised that Topps pulled the Bonus Boxes from their online store BECAUSE they were going to be sold at stores like Target, Walmart and Toys R Us. Now they might as well put them back up there and make it an online exclusive. Even that would be strange after all this time the ANS series was always sold in the other 3 stores.  :-\

Found the blisters at Toys R Us here in OKC.  I still have NOT seen a bonus box in the wild and I've been to Target and Wal-Mart numerous times looking for them and the blisters.  Luckily for me, I was able to get a bonus box from Topps when they did have them.  This exact same thing happened with Garbage Pail Kids Flashback.  The blisters took awhile to find, but I NEVER could find a bonus box.

I, too, have not found any bonus boxes in the wild and from what I've been hearing I don't expect to. I did, however, find cereal boxes at one of the local Targets today(which was new for this area as far as I know) and also the $1.00 packs at a local Dollar Tree.

If I could find them in a retail store for $10, I'd buy them - you show the retailers that Wackys will sell, and you get an extra pack, plus the bonus card.

DAMAGED STICKERS IN CEREAL BOXES!!!

I'm not sure if anyone has posted about this problem on the forum yet, but I bought a set of ANS7 cereal boxes at my local Target last night and when I opened them up, I noticed the top card in one of the cello-packs had a big dent on it running from top to bottom on the left hand side of the card. I'm a collector so I don't like damaged cards, but I figured that maybe it was only the top card that was damaged....

NO!!!!!

14 out of the 18 cards in the pack had the same dent in the same place...I also checked the top cards in the other packs without opening them and they also had dents... but the bonus cards and the cereal boxes themselves were in great condition...

has anyone else encountered this problem??? I dont know whether to alert Topps or return them to Target...

If I could find them in a retail store for $10, I'd buy them - you show the retailers that Wackys will sell, and you get an extra pack, plus the bonus card.
I’ve never considered that. Support your local Wacky retailer! I’ve grown the think of Target as an evil giant like Wal-Mart, even though I shop there frequently.

Wanting the box for Completistism?
I was about to ask if the bonus box is significantly different in design or unique in some way, and then I realized if the only difference was an asterisk in the code, that fact would turn some people on, and I’m OK with not calling that extreme level of Completistism a type of neurosis :glasses3:

At least they were just the base cards that were damaged, which are virtually worthless.  If the cereal set cards were damaged I'd be upset though!

I still don't understand why people buy bonus boxes if they can get the bonus cards so cheap.
Has anyone provided a rational rationale for buying bonus boxes?

Yeah, the thrill of pack cracking. Some here have said they have pulled some very cool insert cards that they needed and also Golds, Sketches, Magnets, Foils, etc. Personally, I've had the most luck with grabbing packs from the 48 pack graviy feeds, but hey, everyone's luck is different.

I'd alert Topps and see if they'll do anything. If not, then Target.

I went on a little road trip this weekend and, as is often the case in such situations, I did a little Wacky hunting along the way.  Stopped at 3 K-Marts and all had pretty decent card sections.  Sadly, there was not an ANS7 item to be found.  What was even stranger is that one of them had the Blockbuster/TRU packs from Flashback I.  What has it been, at least two years since that series?  Very odd.

I did manage to find some of the 4 sticker ANS7 packs at a Dollar Tree.  Picked up 6 of them.  If anyone has access to the 3 stickers plus gum pack and wants to swap 3 of yours for 3 of mine, please let me know.

I haven't found any around here. As a matter of fact, last night I was at Target and they were out of the Gravity Feed box and the box was even gone! That Target now has ZERO ANS 7 - and they only had the Gravity Feed box for a pretty short time before it completely sold out. Gee, I wonder if they'll get more? At this distribution rate I guess not. But then again since the older ANS stuff and Flashback stuff keeps surfacing, maybe we can expect ANS 7 to resurface in about 6 to 8 years.  :o

It seems that the 3+gum packs may be the toughest to get for this series.  I have not heard of anyone finding these packs in the wild.  In fact, I've only heard the one guy who came on here and said he bought a box of these by mistake and I have not seen any more of the boxes being sold anywhere online.

I learned the hard way with the Coach Motel bonus sticker and this time I'm not taking any chances. I bought a handful of the ANS7 B4 bonus sticker just in case the value goes up in the future. Could there be a supply and demand issue down the road? I kinda doubt it.....but who knows?

I got mine from Card Gary's for a reasonable price. Here's the price list that someone posted on "the other forum". (or is this "the other forum"?)

You can email him at the address on the list. He's very quick to respond. There isn't a price for just the 3 blister pack bonus cards - but he quoted me $5 which seemed good to me. Orders over $50 get free shipping.

Probably because folks are holding out to see if they are going to start appearing in stores.
I typically have that kind of patients, but in the world of Wacky's I couldn't wait no more and
got mines from the E-bay shelves.

Very very strange distribution of this series indeed.  :^)

Seems highly unlikely this stuff was underproduced so bide your time and wait for dealers with over abundance of stock to drop prices or better yet, have the fun of hunting for stuff in the wild.  Having everything just handed to us with easy internet ordering is sorta boring, no?

I did find some stuff in the wild which is no doubt fun, but I get tired of going into the big "marts". I prefer shopping on-line for just about everything. Saves a lot of time (and often money) even if it is boring.

Yeah, I went with "the wild" this time, but must admit in hindsight it's been a mixed bag for me.

I love Wackys. That's a given. And the artwork/gags in ANS7 have been extremely high caliber, which is fantastic.

But I've been very disappointed in the cost/return ratio for ANS7. I've sunk about $400 into it and have still had to eBay to get Bonus Boxes and Flash Foils (to complete just one set!).

Yesterday I went by Wal-Mart (which has had only one gravity feed to date), and the gravity feed was gone. 23 packs were rubber-banded in a stack in the back of the shelf. WTF? So I bought 'em all. Pulled a couple of flash foils, and filled in a couple of red WOM's, but nothing else. Realized afterward that I had dropped $46 for these, which now seems crazy. Was thinking: "dang, for that I could have bought a whole box of OS2 when it comes out!"

Last night I started wondering why the packs aren't $1.25 or so (what is the profit margin anyway? ANS1 was $1/pack for 6 cards in 2004), and why the heck the distribution is so whacked (pun intended), and why the odds are so bad. Seems to me that for $400 a gold set should have been "within reach" and I should have been able to build two or three silver sets. I mean seriously, how much do those flash foils cost Topps? And what kids would spent $400 to only pull 3/5ths of a silver set in the wild?

Basically for me if ANS8 is like this, I'm just going to buy the complete sets from eBay and pick up a couple of packs in the wild. At least with the OS series I would have had a sketch card with each box I bought and for $400 would have had nine of them to keep/trade/sell.

No way that kids are spending $400 on ANS7.  What kids have that kind of money and, if they do, would they be spending them on Wackys?  I don't believe that to be the case.

I spent approximately about $100 on ANS7 (one retail box for $48, two cereal trays for about $30, one bonus box for just under $10, and another $12 on six packs from a gravity feed).  I luckily got one autographed foil and needed to do trading to complete one foil set, one full set of WOM (I almost have two WOM sets), and about 2/3rds of the red border WOM.  I think I got about three or four silver and that's it.  That's about all I am willing to spend on a series at this juncture in time.

In contrast, I got three boxes of OLDS1 for a little more than that - and that gave me three sketches guaranteed.

Almost the exact same story here, I speculate I spent about $450 and have no auto, no gold border, and no sketch to show for it. I did have enough silvers borders to trade for a complete set here on the forum and complete several WOM pinks. In the past, I have purchased "master sets" on ebay for around $75 to $125 (depending on the release) and then spent more to pick up items to complete my set. This was the first time I jumped in with both feet and purchased a case and also extra boxes, etc. directly from Topps. I was hoping to be the guy selling an extra master set or two this time around, but fat chance when it is so difficult to even put a silver set together. Thats my SOB story, and I'm stuck with it.

I think what Dave's referring to how a quote reply will dump you to the very end of a thread no matter what message you are responding to.
So if you have a multi-page thread that you haven't read yet, you start reading and feel compelled to reply to a post - at which point you are then dumped out at the very last post on the very last page at the end of the thread and have to backtrack and figure out where you left off.

I live in Carrollton, Ga. and as far as I know, I am the only person in the area that is a Wacky collector.
I went to Target last night and they finally have gotten another gravity feed box to replace the one I bought on release day over a month ago. Someone had torn the tops of each pack in the box just enough to move the cards about and see if there was a sketch card. Each tear was maybe a 1/4 inch and the cards had been moved around and left that way. At first I thought that someone had opened the box with a blade and had cut a small slice into the pack (I find DVDs at Target this way all the time). Then I realised that every pack had this special feature. Obviously someone was looking for sketches. I don't know if it is another collector or if the Excell guy who restocks heard about the sketch craze and was checking out the box. Anyone buying packs probably wouldn't notice until they went to open the pack. If they did notice ahead of time, the tear is so small that they wouldn't care. It didn't impact the contents, as everything was still intact. There were only 41 packs in the box and I don't know how long it had been there, so I don't know if the culprit found a sketch or not.

Topps is now Out of Stock on both cereal box sets.

Cool, now the prices will start to rise!  Unless of course they replenish them.

Loren,

I "marked" this post as a reply..........I would LOVE some 4-sticker packs and as a matter of fact, I just happen to have some 3-gum packs on the way.  :-)

David - I just finally read this post.  I still have about five 4-sticker packs left.  I would love to trade for a couple of 3+gum packs when you get them.

Why not just PM each other? I have read where people are having issues not being able to know if someone answered their post. You can flag any thread to give you notification of a reply. It doesn't mean it's a reply to your post though. If someone really wants an answer from someone they can just PM them to get the answer they are looking for.

If you start a thread you might be looking for an answer. Just setup an email notification to yourself for the thread you started.

I saw 3 cereal box sets at Target last night (in the toy department) Didn't grab them though,  I've think I've spent enough on ANS7.  I moved them so they were by the blister packs.

What does it say on the price tag on the shelf?

there is the wal*mart box with full art. unless you don't consider that a gravity feed?
I forgot about the short gravity feed because I usually see it sitting on a shelf rather than defying gravity. So the dollar packs may be the only TALL gravity feed to come with full box art.

The price tag is for the Pokemon tin behind the cereal boxes.  I found the WP boxes strewn among some random toys on an aisle nearby.

I picked up another Dollar Tree gravity feed today.  This is the tall one with full artwork all around.  I bought all the remaining packs and asked the cashier if I could take the box.

If anybody is looking for one, I would sell it for $15 shipped.  $16 if you are paying with PayPal (to cover the PayPal fees).

I see there's ANOTHER ans7 blister pack on the market. This one has no bonus card and is wider then the other blister packs. Cardgary has an ebay listing for it.

Has anyone spotted this "wide" blister pack in the wild yet? I don't want to pay $8+ for one on ebay...

I happened to be in a K-Mart today and they had ANS7 blister packs for $3.99 each.

I assume they are the regular ones.  What are "wide pack" blisters?

they're the ones Cardgarys got up on ebay. Blisters w/o bonus cards, and the blister part is wider than the packs.

The ones I found at K-Mart were the regular ones with bonus cards.  I didn't pick any of them up because they were pretty beat up.

I also went by the first Dollar Tree where the checkout girl gave me the Gravity Feed and they actually had another one out!  I thought about trying to snag it but it looked like it was almost full and I didn't want to buy all those packs.  I may go back in a week or so and see if the packs are getting sold down.

Seems like they sent the whole supply to that Dollar Tree.

I found bonus boxes and bonus blisters at Sports Authority today  - $10 and $4, respectively.  So cool to find them in the wild I bought some - I've found cool Wackys there before, so I figure let's encourage them to carry Wackys.

thanks for that info! that's the first I've heard of them in the wild.
I've been meaning to stop by the local Authority, as they've carried sports cards and GPK in the past. I've never seen wacky's though, so I hope this time is different. I still need a bonus box, so if not the Authority, then I'm off to CardGary's

Much more satisfying to find them on a store shelf!  I left a lot behind, will check back in a couple of days to see if they're gone.

One thing I like about these packaging formats is that they shouldn't be searchable.  After seeing all the 'hot pack' auctions lately, I no longer want to buy gravity feed packs.

no luck for me at sports authority. they had actually dismantled the trading card display just a couple of days ago, so they wheeled out the remnants in a shopping cart! some baseball and a non-sport thing, but no wackys. They've had little or no card sales for a long, long time so they are giving up at this store.

Yeah, I too am leery about the gravity feeds now. Seems like the look extra "picked over" whenever I see them. I bought some bonus boxes from CardGary's and liked the fact that the packs were untouched. Blister packs are kind of pissing me off though because the bonus stickers are almost ALWAYS BENT on the corners, because they aren't in cellophane so they bang around. Annoying.

Last of the ANS7 I bought from a Wal-Mart here and they had 6 packs. One was taped to the front of the gravity feed (which I carefully peeled off). It was at this point I could see that the gravity feed box wasn't even a Wacky one anymore. It was some other fantasy/penguin/glittery-unicorn-whatever box. Seems like Wackys were really abused this time 'round. The last of 'em at the other Wal-Mart were rubber-banded (aiieee!) and laying unceremoniously on the back of the shelf on their sides.

When you say the feeds have been "picked over", are you referring to people searching for the "hot packs" like the one seller on eBay has been listing?  I still don't get how that guy is doing that.  I was at a Target yesterday and I tried to see if I could "see" the chase card through the back of the pack and I just couldn't do it.  I guess if you had a lot of practice you could do it but I can't imagine standing there in the store and searching through 48 packs.  It seems like that would take forever.

It seems more than likely that he/she figured out the pattern, colliation, knights move kinda mathmatical equation where as they have somehow concluded for example, that there would be a special insert card in pack say #23 to 26 of the pile into the gravity feed. But wouldn't the packs get mixed up during transportation and handling of that gravity feed. I suppose you could tell once the box is opened if the packs have been disrupted.

Also, someone else here has stated if the person figured out this, then why dozn't he/she just open up the pack and sell the special card themselves?
Also, they would of have spent quite a few ducketts to find out this pattern within the boxes.

I noticed that yesterday as well.  It says the gravity feeds have 96 packs per.  I thought it was 48.  Topps should correct that or may be getting some angry customers.

Cereal Boxes and  Gravity feeds are all gone now from the Topps site. Does anyone have an extra empty Target Gravity Feed Box they want to trade with me for the other type. I piced up an extra one from the dollar store that has the graphics going all around the box - it looks way cooler than the Target one, but I need the Target one with the maroon sides for my collection.

I have an extra one: Gravity Feed Type I (Tall) Code:  2-763-03-03-0 to trade - the one with the graphics around the whole box.

PM me and LMK, thanks Jeff
