I'm not posting this thread this early to get an actual head count right now since we are still about 3 months away yet, I'll look for that around the middle of April. Why I'm posting is to remind you all that Neil will be one of the guest artists for the next show and for those that attended the show in 2017 when he was supposed to come to that show and couldn't attend due to a weather situation or something else in his hometown, Well I'm sure I speak for all those who were really looking forward to meeting and hanging out with him that weekend. He has mentioned in a similar post a little while back that he definitely plans on making the spring show no matter what it takes to get him there. So for those of you who haven't attended a show in quite a long time (And you know who you are) I certainly hope he has many opportunities to attend as many shows as possible. But realistically, this one may be the only one for quite sometime. So whatever you have to do to get to this show to meet him, Good luck in your endeavors. Looking forward to seeing all those that can come in the spring. May the 4th be with us-LOL. Mark-Shoe.

the "Spring" Philly Show?
planning for it, but depends on when the upcoming Crew Dragon and Starliner launches actually occur. Those have precedence for me.
-
There's only one Neil Camera in person.
-
Ha! Thanks for the very kind sentiment everyone! And yes, this will likely be my one and only show in 2019, so I hope to finally meet a lot of you in person, especially you Mark (I think we first started trading around 1985)! Can't believe we've never met! Anyway, super excited about the show! There's some great artists lined up, some kick butt promo cards and cool events! All we need are the fans to put the cherry on top of this banana split!
-
I may even come out of retirement for this monumental, colossal even gargantuan event. (if my body lets me) I hope!!
Jim

Thy me. Thy grammar stinks.

Then that settles it! I'm definitely going! Or should I say, "It shall be so, sire"!

I offered to sponsor an artist, and never heard back. Guess they had enough donors?

I May attend as the pinball show is back to aligning with this show and this show is not on the weekend of spring break like it has many times. On top of that, my girls may be away for a girl scout retreat. TRIFECTA!

I have taken a couple of years off but I will be selling off a bunch of stuff again. If anyone wants to claim something that I can bring to the show with off ebay deals, I am all ears. Today I am ebay listing a complete basically untouched set of wacky towels and a and complete basically untouched set of the series 1 vinyl pillows.

I have some sad news to report today and although I don't know when he passed, I'm sure it was just recently. For those of you that attend this show whether it be the spring one or in the fall, I'm sure you have met the bearded gentleman that stands at the bottom of the ramp as you are about to visit each of the dealer's tables. His name is Ulysses Connors and I found out about his passing today from one of the dealers I keep in contact with when the shows are not going on. Mr. C was a resident of Whitehall and was the local constable in his community and his job at the non-sport shows was to make sure that everyone who attended was on their best behavior. Back a while ago, he had a little card shop outside behind his home where he sold many diff. non-sport packs including a couple of the original series ones, back issues of The Wrapper, etc. May you in RIP Mr. C

Very sad news, Mark. He was a fixture at the shows.

I remember a story about him. I was a dealer at the show once, with my parents. The second morning, when we came in, I see a Barbie doll on our table. HE put it there. He pranked me. I always remember him for that.
In case you're wondering what I did with the Barbie: I went to Matt Stock's table and tucked it in one of his bins. My dad and I later came back and asked why he was selling it. Ah, good times.
May he rest in peace.

I would like to start getting a head count of who's planning on attending around the 3rd week of Apr. I think that is enough time to plan.

Plan? Plan what? Are you formulating another evil plan for all of us?

Perhaps another Wacky meeting/dealing table set aside, to avoid the nasty food area situation? I remember contributing to that back when Rob was around here.

You should know me well by now Sir. There is no evil in Brother Shoe-LOL. I just think a week is sufficient enough for everyone who is thinking about coming.

I'm going to call him today and see if he can attend.

My understanding was he left the hobby, but that was a while back...could be wrong.

No, he's still around. He's just not collecting much of the new stuff.

will be there sunday after Lynda wins her prizes
-
I can understand the rationale behind this, however most of us are working stiffs with family responsibilities and obligations and are maybe - just maybe - lucky enough to make the show one day, let alone two.
If anybody here is attending Sunday and can pick me up Neil's card, I'd be most appreciative!
-
I wasn't aware. Save one for me, too! ;)
By the way, if any of you wonderful attendees want me to draw a sketch card for you, send me a PM and we can work out the details. And maybe, just maybe, I can have it ready by the show!

The MOST Important Meal of the Day!!!!! Could it happen in May!?

I sponsored an artist, which came with a seat at the dinner. I had hoped to be able to go to the show, even if just for Saturday, but last week we had another emergency where I was needed to get my mom to the hospital, and I just can't be so far from home - I'll worry myself sick.
Anyway, the dinner is sold out and there's a waiting list. If anyone here wants my dinner ticket, LMK; otherwise it will go to whoever is first on the official waiting list.
-
The dinner ticket is spoken for.

Absolutely. I haven't been more than 30 minutes from home since the last show I made...... I will enjoy myself vicariously through all of you attending and reporting, and I'm glad I was able to help the experience by sponsoring an artist. If anyone finds a nice Ratz, I call dibs :]
-
Is there anyone here that will be attending the Pinball Show on Friday, or arriving early in Allentown that would like to split a room for 2 nights? If so, let me know via PM. I am making reservations and flight arrangements over the next 24 hours.
Let me know if you are interested, thanks.

Sorry to hear that you can't come. As was mentioned, family comes first. I don't think a Ratz will show up unless Dan McKee shows up. And, I find that unlikely. Either way, I'll be on the lookout for you. :]

Hey Everyone! If you're attending, be sure to look for my Fearsome Weirdos promo card! Wish I could be there!

I expect to be attending the pinball show but not sure if I am staying over, I might need to shuffle home and back, working out some details.

I will be attending with my name tag from last year.
I have but a couple OS extras that I will likely bring, including a filler Choke Wagon if anyone needs. Most of you don't, more than likely, but I figured I would mention just in case. I will likely bring other trade bait as well. I'll have to search my "stock".
Limited funds, so I'm probably just gonna upgrade in this show. Or, maybe I'll buy some puzzle pieces. I don't know.
Hope to see y'all there.

I should be at the pinball show on Friday.
And the card show on both days.
If the weather permits Dorney Park ,calling all coaster riders.

I doubt that I'll be coming since it's such a long drive. I drove to Wilmington, Delaware, which is an hour or so shorter, a couple of weekends back for a train and toy show and was completely wiped out after driving the combined 10 hours on Friday and Sunday. I did find a piece of Wacky Packages cloth that had been cut into a dress for $5 and a Croke ripoff puzzle for $7, so the trip wasn't a total waste.

I don't get out to PA very often, but plans worked out and I'll be making it to both days for this one.
Should be great!

For those attending the show, make sure to say hi to our own Mr. Neil Camera! Super classy gentleman!
Chenduz will be there as well, another great guy! pssst, he likes coffee!
And George, too! George, get to the Post Office, I know there are plenty down the Cape!
And make sure to pick up a card set there! Robert Jimenez has a super promo of one
of his upcoming Fearsome Weirdos cards, it looks like it's going to be a great set!
I hear that there also may be a Wacky surprise or two?
-
I'm not able to attend, as I used up many vacation days at the Star Wars celebration. Any chance people will be selling extra Wacky promo cards here? If so, please add me to the list! Thx!
-
Neil's Sunday Wacky Packages promo card has been posted on the PNS facebook page - for those that don't mind seeing spoilers.

Unfortunately, I cannot attend Sunday. It is the day of two birthdays in my family.
I will be there Saturday, though. I'll just miss out on the Sunday cards.

The ReSee’s Peepers postcard is the one that still haunts me.
That's a great Wacky! I liked it so much that I bought Neil's painting - my first Wacky painting. I think that was the last show I was able to attend.
-
The ReSee’s Peepers postcard is the one that still haunts me.
That one, I think, had such an overall tone of...creepiness to it that I think that it should've been a Wacky Halloween Postcard, not a Wacky Packages Postcard. It would've fit right in with them, believe me.
-
I figure the line is growing, wish I was on it.
In the spirit of the day, although my Off The Market package arrived Thursday, I waited until today to open it (I made it to 9 am before giving in). I'll write more in the other thread, but they're great!
-
It was nice to see everyone I normally do - as well as a few new people. (Brute 88, and I believe Bandaches)
Not much to boast, but I got a 16th Series Fling Ems, Spic n Span variation, last three normal die cuts (of course without Ratz and Cracked), and some upgrades. That's about it.

1st of all, Hope I don't miss anybody here (I'll do my best). Great to see Kook, Ratchet 007, Brute 88, Brian M (Not sure of your FN), Paul Maul, Band -Aches, Vah Surfer, Bigtomi, Quas, Matt S, JL 1967, Soremel, Duck/Hide, Jason B, ETC. 2nd of all, I picked up 4 of The ANS Boxes I needed, A Grime Heavy for a contact in TX. and a Jerkitol from series 15 for a contact in NC. 3rd Last but not least, The highlight of my weekend was seeing the debonair Neil Camera and his delightful daughter Halsey. I certainly wish they had the opportunity to make each and every show, But I know that isn't possible. Do look forward to seeing them again in the near future. A wonderful meal was enjoyed last night for those able to attend and many shouts and thank you's went out to Marlin/Roxanne Toser for all their yrs. involved with the PNSS, All the artists present there were involved in the card talk panel this morning and with that, donuts and coffee were provided along with prizes handed out last night and this morning. For those interested (And I'm sure you will be) The dates for the fall show are the 19th/20th of Oct. again held at the MSM.
-
Just back from Philly and was sooo great to see everyone, Especially meeting Neil and his up and coming-artist daughter, Halsey; Neil is going to have some family competition!
Great to also see Fred Wheaton again as well as Jeff Zapata and meet Chenduz, who traveled all the way from The Netherlands! Ka-Boo!

Was glad to make the show after a many year break. I am going to try to make them more often and may drag one or both of my daughters as they are getting into collecting pokemon. Was nice to see the wacky gang was back to the way it was long ago, stress free good conversations about wackys! I enjoyed seeing George's massive UK collection and discussing the art of spotting those titles. Neil was the true gentleman as he portrays on the forum, was really glad to finally meet him in person!
Not much in the way of underpriced "finds" at the show but definitely some quantity available for people to fill holes in their collections. I snagged a pile of puzzle pieces at $1 each to finish many extra puzzles. also grabbed some series 15's at $3 each which completed another series 15 set for me. My biggest find was the gloss back bandache which was NOT at the show but in one of the mall stores! It was $45, has a crease in the upper right but still a good find. I left it there as I have several already so perhaps fun for the next show to see who can find it.
Was disappointed that no dealers carried pokemon common singles that I could load up and bring to my kids to trade, again found those in a mall store but since I bought a couple of pokemon treasure chest tins at the show, I left the pokemon singles at the store for next time so I will know my girls will have something to dig thru.
Of course special thanks to Brian L for hanging all day Friday into Saturday as we did the pinball show, split hotel costs and both made a connection with a new dealer who seems to be expecting to get loads of wackys in the near future.
-
Glad to have met so many both new and familiar faces this past weekend. From what I understand, Saturday had a surprisingly large and unexpected turnout. The artists in attendance were also a really great group with some good stories to tell. (Speaking of which, if anybody has ever wondered where such a strange moniker as "Chenduz" comes from, it is a play on Vincenzo D'Ippolito's first name given to him by his childhood friends.) Already looking forward to the fall show!
-

Great show over both days, plus the Sat. dinner and Red Robin meet up, and the Sun. card talk event. Saturday was the highlight and very well attended, and Sunday was a nice wind-down.
Spent tons of time talking with all the artists and met a few of the wacky gang (Brian Mc, Tom, Brian L, Mark S.) and somehow missing out on meeting everyone else! Next time!
-
Anyone selling Old Petal, Del Monkey, Rodeo Flyer and Prepsi? PM me.
for the Prepsi magnet, Fred has a dozen or so, and he mentioned he'll soon be posting on the forum the info for those interested in picking one up.

This show was so much fun! I'm surprised that I actually had a voice by the time it all ended at 3:00 pm on Sunday! It was great to see the "Wacky Faithful" that showed up over the span of the show. Also, to get to hang with Brian L., and Ernie D. again, gave the show a classic "Hanging at Jeff Weiss' House in '99" kind of vibe! I could have talked about, and traded, vintage OPC Wackys with both of them all day! The artist lineup for this particular show was one of the best! (In my opinion!) Definitely a group of some of the kindest & funniest people on the planet! Finally getting to meet Neil, and his daughter, was so much fun! And, I could have talked to James Warhola 'til the cows came home! Brian Lambert, and I, tried numerous times to do some trading on Saturday & Sunday, but my table was so busy that we didn't get to sit & do Wacky business almost until the closing of the show! Unfortunately, I only had one title that he needed (and I think it was an upgrade!) but he gave me a great deal on some OPC 1st Series stickers that helped reduce the length of my needs list. The top row, in the photo, are white-backed, and the bottom row are tans. The puzzle piece is a light-backed upgrade. The Toser family deserves a LOT of credit for all of the effort that they put into these shows. I'm looking forward to, and hope to see many of the Forum members at the Fall show!

I also noticed the 15ths for $3. I bought a couple singles from there, not any of the 15ths though. And, of course the only time I didn't go into the mall stores, there's a glossy Bandache. That's a cool find. Wouldn't be able to afford it anyway, but I'm fine with my Bandache too.
Fanatical: I didn't meet you at the show. I'm the kid with the long hair. And, my dad who also has long hair was with me. Hopefully we can meet up next time you come. It's fun getting to meet all of the members on here and talk about Wackys.

Mark, it was great to see you & your dad again! Congratulations on your finds at the show & kudos on the drum set! Hope to see you guys at the Fall show!

Glad to have met you! Next time, let's go find that glossy bandache and talk the seller down to $30! Did anyone grab the 40-50 series 4 wrappers for $1 each? I was thinking of grabbing them just to fill a box with wrappers.

Next time!
Bummer we didn't meet. I mentioned to Brian at dinner Friday night that I recalled you were coming, glad you made the trip and got a lot out of it!

What a wonderful Philly Show! I just can't say enough about the wonderful trip that I made from Florida... Pinfest, Philly Show, and seeing several old and new Wacky Collectors from the surrounding areas. Flew into Philly and went right to to the Allentown Pinfest where I met Ernie, and we spent nearly 9 hours playing pinball with over 400+ machines to choose from...biggest show ever!
I was supposed to meet up with Kevin Flynn (Beanball), but he had some serious travel issues that he might post later when he gets settled back in Detroit. I really enjoyed talking with the artists, especially Fred Wheaton and Neil Camera. I was nicely surprised to see James Warhola, Tom Bunk, and John Deitrich there as well...all of whom I had collected their artwork, but never had met them in person before. I was able to hang out with George Wright (my all-time favorite artist/collector) and was able to reminisce about Wacky Gatherings of the past. In addition, I was able to meet several newer collectors like Mark (National Spittoon) and Brian (Ratchet007), who both were awesome collectors in their own right.
The evening at the Ratz was awesome, and I would really like to commend the Roxanne on attending her 70th Philly Show! If it was not for her and her supportive family, it is very possible that some of us would have never met. Kind of like a Lost Wacky Family if you will....
Anyhow, I took several pictures, and here are just a few:

Is there any more info on the Kooky Cards Set? Is this set being produced? Exclusive to WP Forum members? Kickstarter? Does anyone have the promo cards they’re willing to part with?

The Kooky Cards are a set of 3 promo cards based on some concepts that Mike Depaz wrote and I painted. There may be more and might even include other writers. We'll just have to wait and see ;) . I have just a few left, as well as the Sunday only promo card ("Curst"), but I'm still catching up from the crazy week, so I'll post about how to get them later this weekend.

There are so many different hot wheels that you could do an entire set of Flat Wheels and include different cars.

Nothing on how to acquire the Kooky Cards yet?
Also: Too bad the Spring Philly show didn't give a hint on the next Topps Wacky Packages series nor the next Wacky Packages Old School (#8) series.

Hi everyone!
I've finally sorted some of my cards from the show and have some extra Kooky promo cards (3 different) and some of the "Kurst" show cards to share. If anyone wants them, I can send one of each. But please keep in mind, it's first come, first serve. I have a very limited supply. Send me a PM on the forum and I will check back with you this weekend to reserve your cards. Once you get a confirmation, please send me a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope and I'll send 'em your way. GOOD LUCK!
PS - If you were able to get some at the show, please be courteous to other collectors and give them first dibs - thanks!

Neil, I got my promo cards today as well. As usual, GREAT JOB on these, and thanks for letting those of us who couldn't go get our hands on these. And like the others, I also wouldn't mind seeing a set of these in the near future. :D
-
Got mine too! Very nice quality. Thank you so much!
-
Just received them too from you, koduck! Thanks!
You recycled the Jerkens kid in Oxi Moron and the Gulp Oil monkey on Flat Wheels.
