Very nice!
Let's see. Who do we have here?
- Maddie Boy (picnic table)
- Armor (picnic table)
- Choke Wagon (picnic table)
- Grime (below picnic table)
- Pupsi (reclining chair)
- Rabid Shave (upstairs)
- Mutts (white dog with cards)
- Breadcrust Corned Beef Hash (brown dog with cards)
- Grave Train (below card table)
Not sure about Snoopy, Scooby, dog with coat, dog pulling shade, and dog painting.
-
Actually, the one with the trenchcoat is McGruff the Crime Dog.
-
Very nice! Is the Breadcrust dog feeding the Grave Train pooch the 2 of hearts?

I think these are cameo appearances by the dogs you named. The dog pulling the shade looks like Clifford, the big red dog. Can't make out the dog in the painting. Maybe dog-whistle-rs mother. :P Did you notice the condiment that Armour-dog is using is "Cat-sup"?

I think the dog pulling the shade is Rowdy, which is why the red hydrant is there.
I recall that there was a story that the original concept for Rowdy was in reference to a dog with that name that had a fondness for hydrants when relieving itself.

And isn't it funny that the Choke Wagon dog's name on the dish is "Lucky"?

I laughed out loud at that this morning!

Jay related the story at one point on the original concept for Rowdy, which was in reference to a dog with that name that had a fondness being near a hydrant when relieving itself.
Not sure what story Jay told but the story is that this is one of the few wackys in which Norm came up with the gag. Norm's dog was named Rowdy and like all dogs, liked to take a leak on fire hydrants.

Norm it is!
I recalled a story, but couldn't find the original posts or references. I took a wag that it was Jay telling it, but got it wrong. I see now that you have it referenced on your site. Nice!
