I was going through some cardboard envelopes I had stashed in my closet to see what other oddball stuff I had and found this. I don't remember how I got it. I had Jay do a sketch for my dad's gift around the same time but I don't recall this one. It's pretty cool.

From the date, it looks like another one done at Greg's party.

I left the party earlier and heard stories of Jay spending the whole night drawing for people. It's strange that he has two dates listed. I don't remember paying Jay for it either. It's a nice find that's probably been in an envelope for 12 years.
Didn't someone post a link to Jay's art from around that time? I believe it is/was on Greg's site.

Between the "IOU this drawing", "nunc pro tunc" and the two dates, it is very likely that Jay was supposed to have drawn this for you at the party on 10/7 and wound up actually doing it on 10/10. "nunc pro tunc" is Latin for "now for then". So, he drew it "now" (on 10/10) to cover when he should have done it "then" (10/7).

It's a mystery? Doesn't matter though. It's from Jay and very special to me.

Thanks for the link. Barman is the one I did for my Dad around the same time. I just don't remember IOU.
