...but for the July 1, 2017 Brevity comic strip this might have been inspired by a Wacky Packages ANS9 or ANS10 AWFUL APP entry:

You're right. There are no two-letter words containing a C or a V. I'll have to shame Dan next time I see him.

Looks kind of like Scrabble - would it have been legal if attached to the "i" in "pitchfork?"
