Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this but ...
As the subject title says : In 2002 Char-Boy had a Wacky Get-Together in Philly.
Who (if anyone) is still active and on the board here that was at that party ?
I had a great picture of almost everyone at the party, but since then I had a few hard drive meltdowns and that picture is long gone.
The pic was circulated over and over, one version even had everyone's board names on it.
The party coincided with the Fall Philly Show that year. I remember some of us trading in the lobby guest area of the hotel some of us stayed at.
I was wondering who was still around that was there then.
Also if that picture is around too.

I wasn't at the 2005 Party I was well into my Funko obsession by then .. ;D
the 2K2 Philly Gathering smaller I believe then 2005.

I was there for both 2002 shows. The show would have still been in Pennsauken, and the hotel in Mt. Laurel.
In the 2002 photo, I'm the one in the lower right-hand corner. In the 1999 pic, I'm standing directly behind the Shoe.

There was a better picture with everyone facing towards the camera though. I did look on the old forum last night, and all the posts have expired. The better picture someone had tagged with everyone's forums names way back when.

In the "02" photo, The guy at the top with the glasses and long hair I believe is Bob Conway who was an advertiser in many of the Wrapper issues for many yrs.

I believe you can find a pic. of the "05" gathering in one of the old wrapper issues, In it I'm standing next to Brian L (Brute 88).

Yep, that's correct. He pops in on the forum occasionally.

I was there for both and including the 1999 gala at Jeff Weiss's house (as well as a few others). I am in both of the pics that you posted (one, in the back row, and the other holding the artwork Swiss Fright). Still here, and trying to make arrangements for the Philly Show, but being shut out of the Wacky Dinner due to no tickets available, I am not sure if it would be worth my while to come up from Florida. Anyone have an extra ticket for sale??? It solidify me attending...

Yep, the '99 photo was taken in Jeff's house (strict "no shoes" rule... because his house was awesome!) I can't remember Jeff's last name off the top of my head, but his forum name was "Knuckles". He's the guy in shorts sitting on the floor. The amount of Wacky history that was in his house that weekend was mind boggling. His finished basement walls were lined with framed uncut sheets from every series from the '67 die-cut proof sheet, up to the 16th series. I have fond memories of that gathering. A group of us were chatting and trading Wacky Packages until 5:00 am... in my opinion, time we'll spent!

This is a pretty awesome thread. Always enjoy hearing about the pioneers of the modern Wacky hobby.

Heh, I wore the same shirt in both pictures, I guess I never left. How weird that I didn't wear a bandache shirt. Geeze, I see Nelson there who remembers him? I'm pretty sure I can name everybody in both pictures.

I think I remember his eBay name, and saw he was selling some stuff from the Chrome series I was looking for.

Same here, the blood that spilled from the dull Art Auction probably caused him to exit the hobby. That event was a true education for him

Strange how the original art has so much lower a profile now than it did in those days.

Not a lot of the art is hitting the Open Market and the one main trouble maker who was in 90% of the art squabbles has moved on to other things.

I remember you were there when we went out to eat once during the weekend.
After thinking it over a little bit, The only conclusion that I'm thinking is I had my son along with me and we were staying at a hotel across from the Radisson and him and I must have gone over to our room after dinner and that group photo was probably taken a lot later that evening. Sorry I wasn't a part of it.

Where is Paul in the picture, and which one? I didn't think he or co-author Phil Carpenter ever made it out to the East Coast gatherings.
