Title: A Joe G and Friends Wacky Holiday Treat
Post by: Joe G. on November 01, 2016, 09:31:57 AM
So once again this year I’ll be sending out a Holiday Greeting, and I’ve roped in two of the finest artist’s working on Wackys today to lend a hand.  Both the great Mark Parisi and my good friend and long time collaborator Paul Harris have submitted art to make this year’s Holiday Treat truly great!  With their help, the Holiday Treat has been expanded into a mini Parody Postcard set.  If anyone wants a set, just pm me by Nov 30 with 'Holiday Treat 2016' in the subject line, send me your current mailing address and that’s it, a Holiday Treat postcard set will be yours in time for the Holidays.

Also like last year, there will be a Toy Surpriser available that brings a Wacky to life.  These are very limited and will be on a first come, first served basis.  Sorry about that, but they're kinda a pain to do and I can only make so many.  If you want one, it’s $20 to cover materials and shipping and you'll have to contact me by Nov 15th, so I have time to make them up.  Just pm me like above, but put ‘Holiday Treat 2016 - Toy Surprise’ in the subject line and I’ll send you my paypal info.

I’m so glad to be able to do this once again and I can’t thank Mark and Paul enough for joining in on the fun.  All mailings will go out the first week of December so everyone should get them in plenty of time for the Holidays.

Tom, my pleasure!  Should be a fun mini-set and we can't let an entire year go by without a few parody postcards!

I've started to get a number of replies and what I'm going to do is keep track of everyone but wait until Nov 16 to write back.  That way I can confirm both the postcard sets and Toy Surprise requests.  So for those that want the Toy, I'll send PayPal info at that point.

Paul is being too modest.  He's doing a ton to see Holiday Treat come to life and it wouldn't have happened without him!

In terms of everyone's messages.  I will be answering them all on the 16th to confirm both Toy and Postcard set requests.

So I just spent all morning sending out confirmations.  At this point everyone should have received one.  If you didn't, please PM and I will reply today.

Also I have received the final art from Mark and Paul and the mini-Postcard Set is super fun!  I know it will give you a smile this Holiday Season!  Everything is on track for mailing all Treats the first week in December, so it will be a nice way to start off the Holiday Season!

OK, so it was a bit of an undertaking but all the Holiday Treats have gone out!  I suspect some people will be receiving them by mid-week.  Hope everyone enjoys them and once again I gotta give kudos to Mark Parisi and Paul Harris for lending a hand.

Tom, Scot, Patrick, Robert, Steve, Marc and Darryl, 'twas a pleasure.  I don't know if anyone noticed but the set did contain a first.  Though the great Paul Harris has designed countless Wacky gags this is the first time his art has been printed.  So we all get add a Harris to our collections this Holiday!

Pat that is too funny!   I never thought of it as being skinny just Bony!

Yes, the model was 3D printed and then molded, cast up, painted and packaged.  The family chipped in so I was able to get them done in time.

Scot, you know, casting as in pouring a liquid material (metal or resin) into a mold to make a cast from the mold.  I've attached pics of casting the Bony.

I remember from when I was a kid, aside from Legos, Fisher Price Little People were frequently stepped on, and also ended up in the washing machine at least once.

Hi Joe G., Mark and Paul.  Thanks for the time and effort put into this Holiday Treat.  I just received mine up here in the Great White north. They are magnificent.  I hope you have a great holiday yourself.  Thanks again for the tremendous effort. Much appreciated.

Dave.

If you have any Bony's left you might want to auction them on ebay them for charity.

I would think there is demand now that the awesomeness of the Bony Pony has been revealed to the world.

Joe,
My apologies for not responding sooner and i did receive the cards the first week of December. These post cards are great!! I really love the Leg-Ow. I can relate to the pain of stepping on legos, especially in the middle of night!!

kudos to you, Mark and Paul for doing an excellent job.
