11 variations on each card!  Incredible!  That's one tough Royal Flush.

I'm getting a rash. There is no way to collect everything. You would also need about 3 binders to hold it all. I will not be going crazy over this. I'm hoping my 5 cases will be enough to help feed the guys going after gold and red Ludlow. ANS 10 was really crazy but all the big collectors were done in about 2 weeks. I only know of one person completing the red lud set.
I'm really excited about the die-cuts. Depending on how tough they are I will try and get a set of those.
ANS 10 was an OK series and nothing really memorable other than Reepers, for me. From the few spoilers for ANS11 I'm now less excited.

for me, 5 cases *is* going crazy. everyone has their own levels though.  ;)

odds stated earlier had die-cuts at 2 per Collector Box, giving you 60 in 5 cases. You should be able to make a set of 55 with some trading I hope.

I initially bought 5 cases of ANS10 but ended up going through close to 30. After sales though I ended up actually spending about $500 and that includes about 50 sketches, 3 Reepers plates, all border variation, & all bonus cards

ANS10 lost me. There was too much and no way to complete everything. In the past I was content to get the red borders, green borders, silver flash, etc. I didn't bother with the golds. ANS10 was so complex and convoluted that I didn't bother. Topps lost me on that one. Way too many variations. It would be too frustrating and costly to put together any kind of set other than the basic base set. Looks like ANS11 is even more so of the same. The last OLDS series was almost a bit much. I put together a master set, but I was almost reluctant to do so. If Topps goes all out on the next OLDS, they may lose me on that series. Sure it is fun and cool to see the different borders, backs, textures, etc. they come up with, but enough is enough. The phrases "Keep it simple stupid" and "less is more" exist for a reason. I am fairly sure that I am done with the ANS (which saddens me), I hope that OLDS doesn't go that route. Oh yeah, the last Postcard series was seriously f*cked for having two vastly different versions and in my opinion overcharging for both of them. Again, the different stuff is cool, but it feels like Topps is really out there trying to milk me for all anything they can. I am not even all about the sketches. I just want a complete set of what they release. I don't have to have the sketches. But it is still too costly for that. My hope for Halloween PC is that they reel it in with the cost and differences in sets.

What Wacky collector would have ever thought this day would come? We were so happy just to have Wacky's again and never thought Topps would do something this outrageous to actually start offending the collector.

Patrick, we may have to move this thread and start a new master list because this conversation may go on for awhile. We probably should move this to the ANS11 thread.

I think you’ve stumbled upon a great parody slogan!

“Topps can kiss my bottom!”

With all due respect to the great American icon we all know and love           :D

(Sorry, just had to say that)

I don't really see a need to move the thread and start over again. Post #1 at the top is fine and that's the one that I'll be updating with titles and info.
The messages below that can be whatever, they won't get in the way of the master list.

Base Set (55) in A & B versions

What is an A and B version?

What is an A and B version?

That would constitute different BACK VARIATION FOR THE same sticker and all the other variations on top of that ie A Gold sticker with an A and B version etc etc

What is an A and B version?
the sell sheet material says there are two different backs to each card, making an A and B version.

we'll have to wait and see if the cards are actually numbered with A's and B's on them (e.g. 1A, 1B).
We also don't know if the B backs are truly unique, or just a scrambling around of the A backs (like we saw with ANS5)

I think ridiculous sums it all up, No coarse language is needed on here, There are young uns that chime in here from time to time as well-LOL.

Are Young Uns deep fried kiddy fingers?

I assume you mean 150 grit is OK to use, but not 30, in order to keep things smooth 'round here.

I'm sure there will be, I just didn't want to put stuff on here until we know for sure. Blowout and Potomac are only selling Collector and Hobby, which is why I added those. I'm sure there will be a Retail as well. Maybe the Rack Packs with Bonus again? and will we see a return of the bonus boxes? that'd be cool.

but not the black canvas?
I get my boxes tomorrow, then I'll attack this again - get all the titles in and start adding as many artist sig's as I can find on ebay

sketches or roughs as they are complete. A

my local Target had a gravity feed, so I picked up a couple of packs.

nothing on them about the odds for these so-called Coloring Cards.

for now I am going to delete 'coloring cards'. i've added 'Sketch Set' to cover these pencil rough editions in the collector boxes.

The only time I've collected a set with 'coloring cards' those cards were outlines of Batman characters for kids to color in themselves.  So, perhaps there is a disconnect here - are the cards in question something already done by an artist, or something for the consumer to color on?

I've seen images of them, and they look like they're reproductions of the pencil and/or ink roughs created by the artists and gag writers.

Yours really do look like pencils and roughs! I guess the ones I have look more finished, just like the real cards just
without the colors. So, pencils they are...until we see/hear otherwise.

Great job working on the master list Patrick - thanks!!  By my count, when you add the Pupsi patch card, there are 1,204 cards to collect, plus the 6 billboards.  And of course, printing plates.........  This set is making my head spin.

Also - I haven't gotten the A/B thing quite straight yet, but I'm wondering if there may be another 55 cards for alternate backs for the concept card/pencil sketch cards.  Unfortunately, not many ebay sellers bother to post pics of the card backs, but I've seen some with puzzle backs and some with ads.  I can't tell yet if there two back versions for a specific title, but hopefully someone here who has killed a lot of collector boxes can answer this question.

list updated with Pupsi and some more artist listings. I also moved the 'pencil sketch' version up into the Base card listing as a variation per your comment. I didn't realize they just had standard backs. ugh. even more to collect if one wants to.

I'll have to wait until I get more cards to work on the A/B thing. I have a feeling it is going to be arbitrary. Uncut sheets might help, but who knows if we'll ever see any. I'll make a choice, and if folks don't like it, they can let me know.

Patrick, I only purchase one collector case for ANS11 so have limited opening experience but as I opened the boxes, I  noticed the base card backs from my first three boxes were all puzzle backs and made up all the puzzles of certain colors (2 sets of base case with the same back variations). I initially thought, here we go... you are going to need two cases with different back variations.  As I opened the  last three boxes, they yielded the alternative backs for the base set and happened to complete the remaining puzzles, the coupons, the billboards, and the "doctor warnings". I also ended up with 2 complete base sets of the alternate backs.

There appears to be an order to the front/backs that suggests the following order...

ONE BACK VARIATION:
#s 1-9  red border puzzle pieces (Hill Billies)
#s 10-18 yellow border puzzle pieces (Prey-Doh)
#s 19-27 orange border puzzle pieces  (Hordlerlands 2)
#s 28-36 brown border puzzle pieces  (Loaf)
#s 37-45 pink border puzzle pieces  (My Little Bony)
#s 46-54 light blue border puzzle pieces  (Mobster High)
# 55 Checklist

OTHER BACK VARIATION
#s 1-9 dark blue border puzzle pieces  (Walking Dad)
#s 10-18 green border puzzle pieces  (Jurassic Pork IV)
#s 19-27 purple border puzzle pieces (Raisan Brawn)
#s 28-42 Coupons
#s 43-48 Warning Labels
#  49 Checklist
#s 50-55 Billboards

I hope my case opens the same way. I should have been digging into my case this weekend too, but the UPS driver lied about attempting to drop off my package on Friday night and took it to the warehouse for the weekend instead.

That sucks! I had a similar experience of missing out on a Friday delivery. Back on one of the postcard releases, I had received UPS notification my shipment was out for delivery. On my way home, about 2 miles from home on a country road, I spotted the UPS truck off on the side of the road. I stopped to see if he needed assistance and the said he had already called it in. As we talked, I asked if he had delivered to our house. He said he was on the way when he broke down. To make a long story short, he would not let me receive the package out of the truck. He indicated it would "mess up their system". I sat fuming over the weekend   >(

It's nice to hear that a collector case will yield both versions.  Still not pleased with the alternate backs though.  Unless base sets end up dirt cheap, this will likely be the end of my separate binder collection of puzzles.

Anyone assembling 'sets' of 1-55 to sell may find themselves with unhappy customers who can't complete any puzzles.  And, trading will be more difficult since we can't even just say puzzle/ad back, we have to specify WHICH puzzle back for 27 stickers.

I just got back from target to start the bonus card (1-6) hunt.  As soon as I open them I will give the code and what bonus cards are in them.  What I thought really sucked is the front of the packs are clear.   A pack searcher doesn't even have to try hard to look at the cards.  Also the part that doesn't have a window is so translucent that it is not really hard to check them also.  I will be only buying enough to get a few sets of the Bonus cards.  I wish that they would package them to discourage the pack searchers not enable everyone to be a pack searcher!

Sounds like this will hurt sales for Wacky collectors, but invite more non-Wacky collectors to buy them for resale on ebay. Who did Topps do this for? :dontknow:

Out of 6 of these packs with a "36" in the code I got B1,B3 and B4.  I am assuming that B2 is with these at target.  I guess you don't have worry about looking at codes for the Target bonus cards like we did last time.  I have not found a Walmart pack yet however I am concluding that it has B5 and B6

I went with the already posted ordering by Scot, as I liked it. 'A' base is all puzzles and 'B' base has the other stuff.
Hmmm. The list looks fine on my desktop, but messed up on my pad. I'll have to work on the formatting

I'm still missing some artists, if anyone can help???

1 Prey-doh (Engstrom?)
3 DeepEnds
4 Preparation Ape
11 Ding Kongs (Engstrom?)
14 Polluted Springs (Gross?)
41 Wartheads
53 Little Seizures

Patrick, Unless, I missed it, I haven't seen a list of sketch card artists yet. Here are the ones I have seen so far (16)...

Brower, Jason
Camera, Neil
Comes, Ron
Engstrom, Brent
Gambino, Joe
Graham, Dustin
Gross, David
Grossberg, Joe (Joe G.)
Kirscht, Matthew
Parisi, Mark
Pingatore, Mark
Simko, Joe
Smokin' Joe
Taylor, Strephon
Wheaton, Fred
Zapata, Jeff

Apparently, Joes are abundant amongst parody artists. I don't recall Ron Comes, Joe Grossberg, and Dustin Graham doing sketches before. I am impressed with the titles I have seen by all three... very nice.

Just a cat acting in a slightly paranormal way as part of the countdown to Halloween.  I plan to change it every 2 or 3 days with a new spooky image. You might say the cat is just scoot-ing along.

1 Prey-doh
3 DeepEnds
4 Preparation Ape
5 The Walking Dad
11 Ding Kongs
14 Polluted Springs
41 Wartheads
53 Little Seizures

Great work - I love the color indications for the puzzle borders!

Are we sure yet about the b1-6 having 3 strictly from Target and the other 3 strictly from Walmart?  If so, that might be useful to add.

oops! forgot to add that.  yes, I think that's definitely the distribution.

Scot, thanks so much for the kudos.  Yes being part of the Joes is huge shoes to fill.  Before I started sketching I wrote to the Grand Master (Smokin Joe ) for pointers and he was super generous with his advice.  Obviously Smokin Joe and Joe Simko are super talents with sketching in their blood.  For my part I just spent a ton of time and color so as not to besmirch the good name of Joe when it comes to Wacky sketches.

Patrick, Unless, I missed it, I haven't seen a list of sketch card artists yet. Here are the ones I have seen so far (16)...

Brower, Jason
Camera, Neil
Comes, Ron
Engstrom, Brent
Gambino, Joe
Graham, Dustin
Gross, David
Grossberg, Joe (Joe G.)
Kirscht, Matthew
Parisi, Mark
Pingatore, Mark
Simko, Joe
Smokin' Joe
Taylor, Strephon
Wheaton, Fred
Zapata, Jeff

Apparently, Joes are abundant amongst parody artists. I don't recall Ron Comes, Joe Grossberg, and Dustin Graham doing sketches before. I am impressed with the titles I have seen by all three... very nice.

Patrick, Are you planning to add the list of known sketch artists to your master list? It seems to be the only thing missing. Also, what about listing the available sketch shapes? Thanks.

which sketches seemed to be the most sought after in terms of ebay sales and rarity or sketch excellence...

I know smokin' joe and brent seem high on the list...for ans11 at least

Let me preface by saying this is all just my opinion, for what it is worth...

From what I have seen, you have it... Smokin' Joe sketches are definitely going for the most and are not abundant on ebay. His ANS11 sketches are very detailed. Joe Simko has some really nice high-end color items but at the other end of the spectrum, some of his black and white shaped sketches are very plain for this release and almost looked rushed. These are going for fairly low prices. Dustin Graham, Joe Grossberg and Ron Comes (who I believe are all relatively new at Wacky sketches, at least in large numbers) have all provided very nice work, in my opinion. I have only seen color sketches by Ron Comes so they are fetching higher prices. I think Dustin, Joe and Ron have contributed to Wackies in the past, in one way or another but if you consider them "newbies" at providing a large numbers of sketches for a WP release, I will go out on a limb and say this is the strongest "freshman class" ever.  I am also only seeing color sketches by Strephon Taylor. All of his I have seen are like a miniature paintings of the original WP. Simple but very nice. I tend to see more sketches for ANS11 from Neil Camera, Brent Engstrom, Jason Brower, Mark Parisi, Sam Gambino, Mark Pingatore, and Matthew Kirscht then I do for Jeff Zapata, Fred Wheaton, and David Gross... all who have done their usual very nice work as we have come to expect. I am seeing more David Gross sketches than what I have in the past releases. Again, just my opinion, but I thing Sam Gambino has stepped up his game in this release and I see a lot of his sketches I really like.

I know the artists all have differing styles and we collectors all have differing tastes (viva la difference) but I really think this is one of, if not the strongest batch of sketches for any of the ANS releases since the sketch cards were introduced. I know I am seeing a lot more I wish I had the funds to purchase.

Thanks Patrick, I must have missed the original post (slowly pulling fork away from ANS11). I think for ANS10, the cereal boxes followed several months after the original release. Not sure why Topps chooses to release them that way.

It occurs to me that the ANS sketches do not identify which series they come from.  Perhaps the master lists could be updated to indicate the border colors?

I can add that. although looking at my shaped sketch, I see there is no border color on those. may have to do both a front and back description or something.

I really don't think you need to add sketch cards as they really don't represent the series. They are all one offs.

I think it would help people identify random sketches they pick up over time.  Yellow border/back = ANS11, etc.  I'm still confused by ANS10 - do the regular ones have green borders and backs but the shaped ones have blue backs??

totally. I wouldn't put anything about the sketches themselves, just the card stock that was used.

You are correct on ANS10 sketches.

Makes me wonder whether Topps was planning on inserting shaped sketches in ANS9, and then used already printed up blue backed stock for ANS10.

You sneaky guy. I don't know if you can use that excuse in this instance because you would have received the blanks before ANS9 so you would know if Topps told you to halt the shaped sketches for ANS9.

Totally agree and couldn't of said it any better than Brad already did:

What Wacky collector would have ever thought this day would come? We were so happy just to have Wacky's again and never thought Topps would do something this outrageous to actually start offending the collector.

BTW, did anyone notice that there were no dealer sheets to collect on this ANS 11 series? No ad/promo flyer sheet. Seems a bit rushed or don't care-ish to me.

They did see the light of day. Greg had a set of all nine of them and sold them to me for my collection, but not before he took pictures of them to include in his website's page for this series. So far, nothing's been included yet.

from what I remember, these went on sale on the topps website maybe a couple years after the ANS11 set was released.
I don't believe that they were up for sale all that long, and simply disappeared when topps revamped their website and gutted nearly all the Wacky items that had been available (e.g. series binders, canvas prints, etc.)
