Just checking to see what this forum members intentions would be if Topps did another Preorder for the Second Series of Old School. If you want to post your intentions just state how many boxes you would preorder and update the total on your post. This info might be useful if someone shares it with Topps once forum members chime in. Also a cool way to see who is now on this forum. Obviously the preorder price / deal plays into things but we don't have any info on particulars yet.
I would preorder three boxes just like I did for Series One.

If series 2 had the same kind of stuff (i.e. 3 sets of three 5x7 cards as bonus items), I would order three boxes of Old School 2 (just as I did Old School 1).

I did six on the previous pre-order. If I have the cash, I'd probably do the same.

I am also but I wonder what they have up their sleeve for OLDS 2? I can't imagine Jay would do another 3600 sketches. I wonder if he will do about 500 and put them in random boxes? That would be kinda cool but not as great getting one with each box.
Depending on what they are planning is when I will decide how many boxes to pre-order. I wish I would have ordered more pre-orders last time with the free shipping and $10 savings.....HUGE! :o

We have a bunch of plans we are working on. Sketches will be included but I don't want to say anymore. The only thing definitely not coming back is the logo stickers as there is no need to do them again.

I preordered four and then bought a fifth just before the free shipping ended. I'd probably do the same, 4 or 5, depending on the details and price of the boxes.

Unfortunately last time I was several years into an unemployment spell (yeah, me and everyone's brother), so I only could afford to preorder one. Thankfully things have changed, so I expect I'll jump on the preorder-three bandwagon next time. Especially if Dave gets them to pile on the extra goodies like he did last time.

I would probably buy two like I did for the current Old School series. Unlike other forum members I am not exactly enamored with the sketch cards, although the Gadzooka schoolmarm sketch I got will be my keeper. As is typical with me (you never want me to try to pull the winning ticket for ANYTHING) I got two of the same set of three 5 x 7 cards but was able to trade the extra set for one set I needed and bought the remaining set of three on eBay for a reasonable price. The reason I mention this is because it actually made it kind of fun to hunt down a few items I did not have and actually TRADE instead of doing the easy thing and handing over a little cash to someone.

Trading was one of the biggest things we wanted to promote with this series. I've already done more trade with this then I did with all the other new series put together.

The spirit of trading with someone thousands of miles away is really cool. I would have never thought back in the day that I trading would come down to something called the INTERNET

I have been swapping sketches left and right. Some titles I have owned, then not had at all and will soon own again. Having lots of fun with it, probably paying too much for the deals that involved cash but still having fun. Missing 4 ultra commons, then most of the toughies except Demented which I overpaid and got for $89 on ebay in a panic move.

I don't mind a chase and incentive to do trading so I don't want things to be too easy but I killed 4 boxes and I got ONE Bottom Middle puzzle card.

Yikes. That sucks. I still have to open all my packs from 16 boxes! I'm sure I have some. Just too busy the last week.

Got your email with the Old School update. Any chance we can see a preorder sooner than later; even though Old School 2 is coming near the end of the year? Maybe two months from now. I don't mind helping to fund the project by pre-paying 4 - 6 months in advance as long as I get a good deal like last time. I bet if you did a one month pre-order period in May or June with a Nov/ Dec ship date people would respond. Pre-orders also help to build the buzz around the project.

I agree. I'd rather pre-order a number of months in advance if that means I guarantee the number of boxes I would like to purchase.

I'd like stickers of the classic logo. The little ones LTL included on some prints I ordered were very cool!

I bought 6 boxes of series 1 because of the sketches and I wanted 2 free posters. It would depend of the extras, but the least I'd buy is 3 and the most is 6.

Thanks, Dave...it's all good! I think I just had the worst luck that day at the packaging plant, but no complaints!
Love the series and all that goes with it, it's a win-win situation for all collectors!

I don't think so. It's going to be much closer to the release date. The first pre-order when things starting to get delayed was pretty stressful! I think they just want to know that there is a low percentage of any delay before doing it again. Just some point of certainty before having it.

I spoke to Topps today and they will have a pre-order for series 2. No prob on that. It will be close to the release though.

It all depends on how much I made that month, anywhere from 3 to 6 boxes, assuming similar contents.

I bought 3 for series#1 if series #2 has the (Sketches) I'll be in for at least 5 or 6 Wackys forever! I cannot sat enough good things about the "Old Schools" it's like being a kid again...Thanks Dave! Your WACKY friend...RonZ 8)

I missed out on the preorder for Series 1, but ended up buying one, then two more once I saw the sketches and understood what was up with the 5x7s. I would definitely preorder three of Series 2. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but Old School is the best thing that's happened to Wackys in a looong time, in my humble opinion. I know that's the nostalgia talking, but . . .

One lucky fan will open an OLDS2 box and it will contain Jay Lynch himself, who will pop out and draw a personalized one-off sketch for you.
