Hi everyone,
It's been a couple of months. I had major computer problems and have not had access to the forum or anything Wacky. So I missed all the fun of talking about OLDS4. Bummer. I got my boxes and bought a master set off ebay (logged on at a friend's computer). I am finally back on-line and put together a master list. If there are corrections to be made, let me know and I will get them posted.
So what have I missed? Anything new come out? Anything new coming out? Fill me in. I am gonna sit down tonight and go through the threads and try to catch up. I'm glad to be back.

The only thing I see after looking over the list briefly, is that I think Dave mentioned the box production was 4,500, not 5,000 for this series.

a thought - to reduce the length of the list and repetition of titles, just state there are 3 different card back for all them. (actually 4 if you count the alternate ludlows)

ANS 10 in mid-March: "You'll Never COLLECT'EM ALL"

I made this suggestion to his OLDS 3 list. He wasn't interested in doing so, as I recall. I agree that it makes it overly complex.
Also, comic #3 and #4 have come out in the past couple months, yes?

I agree, no need to repeat the titles since there's no difference other than the backs.
Also, wasn't the pre-sale more than 6 hours?

Great to see you back Pat -- glad you're online again after the most recent storm!

Sounds like a winter wonderland! We haven't had a decent snow in over a year!
Anyway, it's great to see you back Pat!

I modified the list and made corrections. I'll also modify the OLDS3 master list.
Thanks for letting me know about the new comics. I ordered them. I read up on ANS10....sounds like a complete cluster f*ck to even put together a basic set. I was fairly blah about ANS9. I may just skip ANS10 or at least wait awhile and reserve judgement until after it comes out.

Like in OS3, the OS4 series was designed to intentionally have 2 different ludlow back variations for each title/wrapper sticker/and the promo and logo stickers. We have also learned that there should be an equal number of each variation. Two back plates were used and 1/2 of the run was created using each plate so no one variation should be more scarce than another. The convention decided upon to be able to uniquely identify the back "variations" is as follows: to simply add the number of camels (either entirely or patially shown) on the back side of the card with the additional qualifier of the number of camel feet, either entirely or partially, shown.
http://postimage.org/image/wkeaodt7h/ (http://postimage.org/image/wkeaodt7h/)
The variation on the above picture on the left can be designated 1c4f (for 1 camel, 4 feet)
The variation on the above picture on the right, 2c4f (for 2 camels, 4 feet).

Some additonal ludlow back information and I suppose a little general information as well.
One of the forum members, WGBLOOD, figured out what the print sheet layout was for OS4, at least for the ludlow back runs. The three attached photos are as follows:
1) The print sheet layout
2) the reverse side of the print sheet layout for 1 configuration of the ludlow backs
3) the reverse side of the print sheet layout for the other configuration of the ludlow backs
4) the print sheet layour rotated right 90 degree to show a non-landscape orientation.
It's interesting to note if you look at the print layout shown in the bottom picture, If you start at the top right corner,
scanning left, then going down to the next row starting at the right side scanning left, etc. the titles are in the following order:
- Base set in alphabetical order (Mostly)
- Logo and promo
- Wrappers (no apparent order)

There is one thing wrong with that print sheet layout that I provided. When I figured out the back pattern. I turned the cards over one at a time in the positions that they were laid out in. if it had been an actual print sheet I would have needed to flip them all at once - with Atomic Furballs in the top left corner. Here is what it should look like.

That's pretty cool guys!

I am hoping someone can help me with an Old School 4 question. I'm updating my wrapper information.
Was there a flat wax wrapper that came with the binder like there was with the first 3 series?

I don't believe there was any premium in the olds4 binder. I think the other wrappers were included with the binder purchase.
I just checked & all 4 binders are still available on the topps site. Olds 1 thru 3 include a bonus wrapper, but olds 4 binder just comes with the ultrapro pages (no wrapper).

That's why I didn't buy a binder last time.

I know, I don't even collect or buy the Topps binders but I seem to have a stack of them in my basement that I only purchased for the bonus item.

I know not having bonus stuff stinks but I like to have the series organized by their specific binder. I think they look great together on the shelf.
