Thanks for the heads-up, Neil!  I just placed my order.  What a banner couple weeks it's been!  Well, other than I'm still working to get the two Wacky promos from the Philly show...

Just purchased mine, thanks for tha thread. On a side note tha shipping on topps online is ridiculous.

I agree about the shipping, though I'm very happy I got one of the comics.  It would have been nice, and it would be nice if the following could be done in the future, if the postcards and comics could go on sale simultanously and we could all save on shipping by ordering them together.

Thanks for the heads-up! I'm amazed they are allowing 4 per person. These will sell out quickly. I hope everyone gets one. If not, I ordered two just in case someone here misses out and wants the share the shipping cost with me.

I ordered extra also if someone missed out
(and I don't charge 50.00 like they do on Ebay) >(

Got mine thanks to a ping from Duznt! I pinged a couple of people too.

Neil: maybe you could send out a notice to the postcard email list?

I refuse to pay that shipping charge especially given that we watched UPS toss my HPC 2011 box from my yard to my steps so the side of the box is crushed yet it is marked "fragile".  Since I didn't hire UPS and pay them directly for the delivery, it appears I have no basis to complain to them.  I am not going to waste my time contacting Topps but I sure as hell am not going to pay $10 UPS standard delivery charges for a $10 item.

Anyone want to go in on a lot of 4?  I believe shipping will still be around $10.  I will then ship to the other three folks for the $4 it should cost.  Net savings per person will only be around $4 but we need to stop enriching UPS with bad service and stop encouraging Topps to use a subpar shipping service.

Edit: I found another group of 4 to join so I am good here.

I just got locked in to a lot of 4 that was already trying to do the same thing I suggested above.

I agree that $10.00 for that item is too high. I wonder what the shipping actually costs Topps?  Most business' that ship a lot of stuff will add a handling and packaging fee to like 20-30% or so which is fine, but that should only be a couple bucks at the most on this one.

....  we watched UPS toss my HPC 2011 box from my yard to my steps so the side of the box is crushed yet it is marked "fragile".

The exact same thing happened here.  Our UPS driver (let's call him "Freddie") always throws boxes marked "fragile" at our doorstep.... he really hates bending to set things down.  The driver we used to have for nearly 8 years (let's call him "Jimbo") was the best... he'd go out of his way to provide good service and he always got a nice bottle of  tequila at Christmas time.

(names have not been changed since neither of them collect Wackys)

Wow, that's crazy!  They ship regular edition $8 postcard sets for free, and they're larger and heavier.  I wonder if they're planning on boxing these for shipping?  Even so, $10 shipping for this item seems really high.  Could it have anything to do with the purchase limits, and the overhead needed to prevent one person from buying dozens at a time?  That's all that I can think of.

The shipping costs are my biggest pet peeve with the Topps online store.  And this latest one really takes the cake!  Except for crazy midnight presales of Old School, why don't they ever offer free shipping for Wackys?  There are items I would definitely buy from them if they offered free shipping promos (assuming they wouldn't pull a fast one and just jack up the cost of the item itself).  Sometimes I will find a promo code online, but it's always expired and only seems to be for non-Wacky crap anyway.  If anybody ever finds a free shipping code for Wackys, please share!

Couldn't agree more.  The excess shipping by Topps is a complete racket.  The conspiracy theorist in me feels there is some sort of profit sharing agreement with Topps and UPS, because there is no way in heck it should cost that much to ship.  I've mailed out lots of packages of different shapes, sizes and weights in my day, and these shipping prices are insane.

And as someone stated earlier I think, it's not like the packages are getting delivered any better.  I also had a damaged box on my Halloween postcards that dented corners of two postcards.  Not the end of the world by any stretch, but still...

Thats why I have a problem ordering the Wacky Binders.  They are almost 30 bucks if you pay shipping and I cant see paying that for a notebook.

I didn't buy an ANS8 binder for that reason. Even if you get it from Topps on ebay, it's $22. I'm going back to making my own.

Yes, called "media mail". But you never want anything collectible shipped that way. Ever. That's how everyone got their OldS1 posters damaged. US Priority mail however is awesome. I receive my items in 3 days no matter where it ships from. The less time in the shippers hands the better.

I was going to piggy back the ANS 8 binder on another order to save on shipping but i was able to pick 1 up at the show. I knew i was going to spend a few bucks at the show but i didnt think i was going to get the deals and save the cash i did. I was thrilled.

there are so many different pieces its hard to assemble everything or keep track of everything. I have stuff all over my office that still needs to be organized.

I think the only way to realistically collect the new series is to set parameters and not try to get everything.  I am a "2-D" collector so it eliminates anything that doesn't lay flat, but even then there's still a ton to collect!

In all seriousness, just the other day I thought to myself that I'm lucky I'm not 10 in this "second age" of Wackys, because when I was 10, it only took 5 cents to buy a pack of wackys.  The kids today are faced with an impossible task of spending the money the we 40-50 year-olds can afford to spend on these new wackys, chasing ever-increasing-odds on the "chasers" (thank God we didn't have those in the 70's).  I just really feel sorry for the kids today who are into wackys....it takes so much more money these days to collect wackys than it did when we were kids.

I'm with you. Just dropped $60 on four Holiday Packs and although I enjoyed it, I'm regretting it a bit now. $60 was a lot for what I got.

But at least now I get to trade for some WP Erasers 2.  :great:

The kids I got hooked on Wackys aren't worried at all about the parallels.  If they're building a 'base' set, they want one of each number, and their set may include some pinks and silvers.  I'm gonna have a problem if one of them ever shows me a base set that's got a gold in it  :o

They seem to like the inserts, but they're not going after those like they are the stickers.  I figure it's because they're used to not being able to "collect 'em all."

I saw a Tall eraser s2 gravity feed at Target the other day, but it was the kind without full color graphics (just the front sticker). Is there a full color Tall eraser s2 gravity feed available? I've seen the short full color ones, but would like a tall one. If anyone has an empty one for sale let me know.

I think I'm done buying multiples of stuff. I like to have one for my collection and others to trade or sell later. It's just building up to be too much. It's also getting expensive to chase after everything. I just spent $40 for the 2 bio cards I'm missing. If Topps allowed us to purchase 4 sets I could have traded for the 2 bio's I needed and got another sketch for the same price.

True Dat!! That's why my daughter goes with me to the shows and we collect together..both OS and ANSy...even the die cuts...she is into ART...

Is there a full color Tall eraser s2 gravity feed available? I've seen the short full color ones, but would like a tall one. If anyone has an empty one for sale let me know.
It's very doubtful there's one with full wraparound graphics on a tall box. That style has only been for the Dollar Tree $1 packs for ANS7 and ANS8, and no one's seen any $1 packs for either eraser set.

Bummer. The generic ones look kinda hokey.

yeah, I'm not a fan of those plain jane red-brown boxes either.
maybe excel got tired of people taking all their cool looking boxes, so they started making them ugly

I got the Jay Lynch comic from Topps today. They included one of the Chicago Weakies art postcards and the OLDS2 promo "Sue Mee". Wish I had gotten a Baby Wrath postcard. Also, the comic is hand numbered (610/650), but it is not signed by Jay. There is a place for a signature, but no signature. I guess he missed signing this one. Oh well.

Funny this should come up, I asked Mike at Topps about this very thing. He said that Target requested that type of box and they wouldnt accept an other gravity feed. Even he said it was stupid but had no choice but to give them what they "Target" wanted.

By the way, J. Zapata was the designer of the full wrap. I do think its one of the nicer ones.

I really figured this to be a case of conveinence for the manufacturer. It seemed to me, seeing other G.F.s with the same black and maroon sides and back, that the product advertisement was just "filled-in" on the front in some way. I would of never thought it to be a special request from a seller. That is really weird. I wonder why such and odd request from Target?

Well then its a good thing I got the FB1,FB2,Ans7 & Ans8 from Target already..those are really nice..

Then the Short Eraser Gravity Feed in blue for S2 is the only one with wrap around graphics?? There is only one gravity feed with the 'Croak' eraser in the front right??

not sure what you mean by 'it's a good thing'?
it sounds like Target forced the change of graphics that occurred starting with the FB2 feeds to make them uglier by getting rid of the full wrap image.
I can still look back fondly on the FB1 and earlier boxes though.
and walmart and dollar trees have them, so they are completely gone

with the erasers, both the target and walmart feeds have that little bubble on the front with a Croak inside

When it comes to what Topps throws in the box, it's like an extra bonus because you never know what you will find. This time they sent the Weakies postcard along with the TS1 bonus card. Nice little extra.

For what I pay, I essentially get next day air at ground prices.

Besides, if I had to high-tail it to Manhattan between going to Nintendo World, the Japanese bakery over by Rockafeller Ctr and gas, I'd spend much more then nine bucks.

I like having one to read/flex the spine/write sketch numbers in, and one to keep pristine.  Not everyone will feel that way, but at least one person wants more than 1!

No kidding.  I paid $10.41......   Ouch!

Me too. That is a huge ripoff for shipping. Why can't Topps use USPS instead for things like this?  Small flat rate box would have been less expensive.

I gotta ask, was this strip created first and then the sketches drawn or were a bunch of similar themed sketches drawn and then slapped together as a strip?  I think it is the latter as this strip has very little flow to it.  Neat concept but doesn't seem to have quite hit the mark as a finished product.

Do you trust the USPS with something unique, autographed, in demand, etc.., like certain Wacky Packages memorabilia? I know I don't.

I've gotten stuff just as banged up from UPS and Fed-Ex.  I can see your point though.  Just sucks that the actual shipping charge was more than the item itself.
