Do you think this item will be perfect to be in a Wacky Packages Old School series? This is an image of a hot dog wrapper from a once popular drive-in fast food chain called Dog 'n Suds (which today has only about 16 or 17 still existing locations):

How about "Hog in Mud"...or "Smog in the Subs"(short for the suburbs)?

I'm not sure it's well known enough. I've never heard of them myself. It looks like it would be a good one if it was more recognizable though.

Rob I have been to a few, and like many chains they have dwindled but a few still remain. Facebook has a page dedicated to them:

I would like to see this chain parodied. I seen an episode of American Pickers where they found a display tray and replicated food and root beer glass that hung on car window that was from the Dog N Suds..http://coolandcollected.com/american-pickers-trading-up-episode-recap-and-review/

I wonder if they ever had them on the east coast? I've never heard of a hot-dog chain before. I do like to go through the McDonald's drive-thru though and order a hot-dog w/sauerkraut, and then listen to the silence on the intercom.

We have "weiner world" in essex, maryland. I think they shut down!

There are still some Nathan's franchises around on Long Island. I even get coupons with the newspaper.

Yes, now that you mentioned it I have seen a few Nathan's. Never tried one though.

Must be regional... Dog N Suds where very common here in the midwest until about 12 or so years ago. Some of them were bought out and converted to Sonic drive-ins. Sonic seem to be a making a nostalgic resurgence lately. A&W drive-ins were also fairly common in the midwest until about the same time frame.

Why not do for an OS spoof of Dog 'n Suds called "Dog 'n Spuds" where the hot dog is made of potatoes?

How about Der WeinerSchnitzel? These were all over California since the early 1960s. Our closest WeinerSchnitzel just closed three weeks ago though.
