My 2 faves are Kal Kan't and Whylers. 2 more that are in my top 5 are stinkin' legs and Mr. Faulty. Tough to pick favorites in this group. They are all really good.
My least favorite would probable be Swin Bros and Ping Pongs but that is just nit picking because they all are great.

You've got a shitload of misspells in there!

This top ten approach is bogus. What if you only like 8? What if you really love 12? You should vote for ALL your favorites and let the results tell us what the top ten are.

My top 4 were Burn n serve, Tarry-Ton 1000's, Lush, and Bad Tooth.

Is there a way to have the vote results automatically sort from most to least instead of having it random?

At this time it's only as I put them in and that is by checklist order. I will see if there is a mod to sort.
I really don't think the poll feature was designed for big lists. I think it was just to ask yes and no questions or only have a few options.

It was a big tooth filled with gum. I believe it also had a plastic necklace so you could carry it around your neck.

Because, if people list, as you suggest, their top-12, and some list their top 8, you'd have to require the folks who list 12 grade from first-to-last, just how "favorite" each sticker is... and have someone with a statistical analysis come along...and somehow work all of that out, statistically.  Only then would the "results tell us what the top ten are."

Which sounds like an awful lot of work to just have some fun discussing the stickers, and a complex statistical analysis of favoritism seems a bit much.

It wouldn't be bogus, at least.

:-)

Couldn't use Whyler's because it's not a Topps product. Can't be Old School without the puzzle being the Topps gag.

I don't THINK they ever came with the string (though it's certainly possible), but they always marketed it as something you should/could do.  They were released primarily in white plastic, but they were sold throughout the entire decade of the 70's, and during that time, Topps mixed it up and released boxes with all sorts of tooth colors.  The gum was a smaller candy-coated Chiclet-type of thing...  I've got a few unopened containers, but I can't recall exactly.   Pretty fun and a 1970's Topps classic.  Great to see it finally make a Wacky.

I remember a very thin plastic string. I know my mom gave them out to the kids at one of my B-day parties. I thought we hung them around our neck. I was only about 8 at the time so my memory is a bit foggy. If I had her photo albums I'm sure there was a picture of these around our necks...LOL

I think your mom wanted a girl instead of a boy and those were necklaces she was hanging on your neck.  haha

Ok, enough of my jokes.  I'll try to be serious.

It wouldn't surprise me if they were sold WITH strings during some period of their existence.   Hold on...

Just checked something.  I recently took some photos of a 1975 Topps trade ad.. I was doing candy research at the New York Public Library.  Anyway, there is a Big Tooth container included on that, and wouldn't you know it - it says right on the label "Big Tooth Lanyard inside".  So it turns out they most certainly DID come with a string of some kind, at least for a part of their lifetime.

I thought it through with crystal clarity. I ran two other polls here and you get to see how many people like or dislike every single title. These are the details that obsessive collectors like myself want to know. If you want to deduce the top ten from there all you do is go down the list and locate the titles that got the highest vote counts. There's your top ten.

Call it what you want. I call it a voting poll and I'd like to see how many votes every single title gets. You could easily get your top ten results AND the individual title vote results if you did it the way I did the other polls. Next time let me do the poll if you're indifferent. I don't mind doing it.

It can be changed at any time. I think picking 10 cards is a fair gauge. Look at the neilson ratings for TV. I have got to participate but they seen to include me in their ratings.

I don't recall the other polls.  So, how did they work, because I think I became confused when you brought up top-8 and top -12?  Would each sticker get a review rating, like 1 to 5 stars?  Or does everyone list their favorite sticker and go down from there, a first-favorite, to last favorite (which sounds way too hard).  Or does each member only vote once - for their single favorite sticker?

Either way, I think it's nice that you care what your fellow members think of the stickers - it is pretty interesting, as are the various reasons people bring to their point-of-view.  I do recall that Gee Your Hair came out on top for Old School 1.

A simple change to the poll would allow it to give us more detailed information. Every title gets a thumbs up or thumbs down and we get a rating for every sticker from every voter. The way it's set up now, you're going to have some titles that seem to get low ratings when it's possible that title is also a well liked title but isn't in their top ten. I don't see how you can be so obsessive about Wacky Packs, pay thousands upon thousands of dollars for them, then be so flippant about collecting more detailed Wacky info when other fans ask for it. Fuck it. I'll start another poll later.

Nobody ever likes all titles in a series. With the other polls you get a count for every single title if it's liked by the voter. You compare that info to the total number of voters and you get your statistics for every title in the series. What's the point of just knowing the top ten when you can know even more just my allowing people the freedom to vote for ALL the titles they like?

It's really not that big of deal to change this and I don't want Mark to start another poll.
I made the change so everyone can vote all of their favorite titles and Mark's heartburn and blood pressure can now be controlled.

Funny, I don't see the counts.  Maybe it's because I haven't voted yet?  Or, could be that my mind is just elsewhere, and I'm missing something obvious.  Want to spend a little more time looking at them before I vote..........

A can't remember the actual name of the ones we had... they had a round yellow ring that went
around the ankle then a rope with a bell shaped thing at the end. No "training wheel" on it like the skip-it
I showed in the picture. This one was free to get tangled on everything and anything. I once got mine tangled around the leg of a German Shepard that freaked out and drug me around the neighborhood a couple times before I could get free.

I showed in the picture. This one was free to get tangled on everything and anything. I once got mine tangled around the leg of a German Shepard that freaked out and drug me around the neighborhood a couple times before I could get free.

These are the ones we had as kids,

but I remember seeing the lemon ones at TG&Y as well.

It's really not that big of deal to change this and I don't want Mark to start another poll.
I made the change so everyone can vote all of their favorite titles and Mark's heartburn and blood pressure can now be controlled.
Hooray! Thanks Brad. We all have our obsessions within this hobby. For example I don't need to know all the details Paul Maul wants to know about packs and wrappers. But I would certainly be supportive of helping him to gain that info. Thanks again.

I didn't vote for it because I had never heard of Freakies cereal until these Wacky forums.  It just really doesn't do anything for me because there is no nostalgia there.  In fact, that is one of the problems I have with this whole OLDS series is that there are a large number of products parodied that I have never heard of before.

I'm actually pretty disappointed in the series overall.

There is not much to be said for this other than just about every item in this series is easily recognizable for the majority of the people who bought the series and even the few products certain people don't know (like Libbyland for example) have extremely high recognition for other people. I highly doubt as a 5 year old or 7 year old or whatever very young age we were when the original series came out that we recognized every product (possibly a third to half a series even). I mean, for example, I can say there is no way as a 6 year old kid I knew looking at series 11 what the heck Saturday Evening Ghost, Seventon, Unpopular Mechanics, Easy Cuss-Words, Chimpanzee Spark Plugs, Decay toothpaste (I know, made-up), Swiss Fright, Muler's, King O'Scare, Chaffed & Sunburn, Mr. Bog, Saparin, Fib, Bash, Alpain and Cult 45 were. Your nostalgia comes from collecting the stickers as a kid not from knowing the products they parodied.

Maybe parody isn't really your thing?  Flunkies is pretty funny regardless of ones knowledge of the original product in my opinion.  Although I must admit I am somewhat biased when it comes to anything related to Freakies Cereal  :)

I guess I could ask the same question.  Did you all really look at the cards before you declared this to be the best modern-era series ever?

I know I won't win any popularity contests on here by dissing this series but I have to call it like I see it.  I have been slowly souring over new Wackys with the ridiculous chase-card odds and the way each of the releases have been becoming a lottery type event for speculators.

To answer your first question, yes there are a few of the cards that I find funny.  I like:

Old Croak
Tarry Ton
Lush
Meltathon
Sue Mee

But that's it.  I don't really find any of the other titles to be all that funny.

My favorite out of the series is Rot. I thought that was done really well. Great artwork & gag. IMO easily could of been a great card in the Original Series. Palmolitov is also a great one. I voted for 10, but really liked about 7 of them the best. Voted for 3 more because there are some in the set that I'd rather see lower on the voter's poll than others. Flunkies was not on my top 10.  :o Overall I think this Olds2 set is really good. Great follow up to the Olds1.  :great:

So you're admitting you tried to manipulate the poll rather than voting just for what you like. What in the world would motivate you to do that? The list is meant to represent what's popular. Not what Playbug wants to appear popular.

For me it might not be the gag as it's the memorable characters that I like. The OS had so many memorable characters while some of the gags were bland. I like the art.

Why?
because there are too many knee jerk "OMGZ!! it's a F'n wacky of Freakies!! it's the coolest thing EVA!!!111!!!" votes out there and they need to be balanced out somehow.

VOTE FOR CRANKY FOAM
[/size]Before you excercise your forum rights, take a moment to consider the benefits of casting a vote for CRANKY FOAM!!!. This advertisement paid for by the Cranky Foam for best OS2 title campaign effort.

I don't know why this is my fave other than as a little kid, the Crazy Foam containers kinda creaped me out for some reason. This parody seems spot on to me. Of course, that's only my opinion... I may be wrong.

I'm surprised Swine Bros. and Old Croak aren't getting more votes. To me, these titles have a certain vintage 16th series "flair" that I can't explain. We also haven't had a cough drop wacky in a long time. Mister Faulty deserves to be in first place. All around perfect parody!

Trying to fuck with people's votes this way is incredibly childish. Maybe I should run my votes by you and Playbug for your approval before committing them. "Protest voting" is not unusual. Like voting for a no-chance third party presidential candidate to signal that neither of the front runners are acceptable.  I understand the urge to knock the popular thing down a peg just because it's popular.

I didn't vote that way myself, mind you. I picked my 10 current favorites when I voted (in checklist order):

Orange Lush
Mister Faulty
Bad Air Cigarettes
Flunkies Cereal
Long & Slimy
Swine Bros
Palmolotov
Sad Bags
Soft & Die Deodorant
Whyler's

Believe me, I understand protest voting when it comes to politics. It makes sense there. But it doesn't make sense to do it here. The whole POINT of a poll is to find out what's popular. I don't get why Flunkies is so popular but that happens to be the case. This poll is adjustable as well so if anyone feels they don't like Funkies two months from now they can change it. But right now Flunkies is in fact popular so there's no reason to try to fool anyone about that fact.

why doesn't it make sense? I believe it's a false popularity. Knee jerk voting without any assessment towards the quality of the piece. So I will be the contrarian and knee jerk the opposite direction. My small way to balance this irrationality.

In essence, by default, what anyone votes on, as one they "like" more than the others, would make it all fair anyway. It is not manipulation, just what I voted for. Everyone has the opportunity to vote for their favorites. All I am saying, is 7 of those were a lot easier to pick out than 10. But I managed.  :great:  Everyone gets their chance to vote, so I do not have this magical power to make a false perception of what is deemed popular. And Flunkies didn't strike me as it did some others here. I did not purposely set out to buck the flow, but it just isn't as cool to me as a lot of the other cards. I knew right away the item that the spoof was about, but it just seemed to me not as appealing as many of the others from this series. A little too busy for my wacky taste, this one might have worked better for me as a postcard sized spoof.

You guys can argue for the sake of arguing but I don't think one persons vote has that much influence over the whole body of worl. I was just joking about Flunkies. I know people don't like every piece. I also don't think Flunkies is the hit of this series. Dave probably asked for the art back so people will have to beat him up to get it. I already mentioned my faves. Some may be for sale by Topps.

I won't be getting my paintings (or 3 sketch returns) back until next week. I didn't get all that I asked for (goodbye Mister Faulty...sniff). I should be getting back Flunkies, Whyler's, Orange Lush, Ka-Boo! and Sue Mee. I plan to keep a few of these so I'm just going to sit on them for a short time while I decide.

Flunkies is a masterpiece imo  :great:

Also really like Knerrds (apologies for spelling -- I'm not at my keyboard and am going by memory), Wedgie, Mister Faulty, Croakaseptic, B-B-Brats, Aqua Hellva, Palmolotov, Sad Bags.

And Swine Bros also seemed very vintage-16th-like to me. Many of the stickers seemed very Old School, which has been great fun for me.

Excellent job, all! :D

Tarry Ton Cigarettes - Great Gag ! Reminds me of the Cig. packaging back in the day, I used to work at a Vending company. Bel Air is great too.
Orange Lush - Awesome !
Ruin-Oleum - Vintage feel with the spoof making you think, yeah that is what happens when you use this!
ROT Dye - My favorite of the series, makes me want to see more of the art! This would be great as a Wacky Ad!
Stinkin' Legs  - Ghouls Rule !
Aqua Hellva  - Great! I remember that glass dispenser.
Kal Kan't Dog Food  - Perfect joke and art of the 70's product.
Palmolotov - Nice work, end them dishes!
Hagnut - Zagnut Hag Witch, love it!
Whyler's - Super 70's, nice lemon character

Why is this poll called "vote for your favorite"?  It should be called, "vote for ones you like".  "favorite" suggests a ranking.  If everyone voted for all 33 titles, you learn nothing.  Since that possibility exists in the extreme, it proves this poll is flawed.  Of the top 15 titles, are you really not interested in the fact that a particular title might be #1 for a majority of the voters?

I love the set because it totally has an original series overall look and feel.  I do agree that many of the products being spoofed are unknown to me and that does lower those titles in my ranking when I rank titles in the set.  I also feel that only maybe 1/3 have memorible tag lines.  Take a hard look at original wackys, the reality is that many of the gags are so so, it is hard to make everything LOL funny.  I am clearly in the minority based on the voting but my favorite is Ping Pongs "for people who like to play with their food"

Nobody is going to vote for all 33 titles. Even if a few did it doesn't hurt anything. You're still going to get a higher count for the most popular titles. I could see doing a poll where everyone is allowed to vote for their single most favorite title but that shows up in this poll anyway. When I look through a set I can give every title a thumbs up or thumbs down.

I think we're finding that many of us don't remember a lot of these 70's products. It didn't matter to me as a kid. But as an adult I need to know the product. All I remember from the 70's is toys and candy. I want to see 80's products. There was only one Wacky series in the 80's so the decade is ripe.

I think you are a few years younger than some of us and I think I'm younger than some others so we will all have some certain pinpoint products that we really remember. However, every one of these products was on the shelves alongside all the products that were spoofed in the 70s so nothing here is obscure. A bunch are still around today. It's like I said before; none of us knew most if not half of the products in each series as kids. As adults we have such a memory of the stickers and have figured out the products through the hobby that they are stuck in our heads by now. I was 4-7 years old in the Wacky heyday and I can honestly say like you I probably only knew toys and candy, some cereals and anything that could relate to me as a kid like Wonder Bread or Skippy peanut butter. Stuff like that. Cigarettes? Cleaning products? Pet food? Etc, nope. I don't think it's a big deal if you don't know some of them. The nice thing now is the Internet is ripe with info on them so a quick Google search will educate anyone on the product and maybe jar some memories.

The 80s will come...

Would love to see Wacky's on 'Golden Blossom Honey' - 'Team Cereal' - 'Cream of Wheat' - 'Taylor Ham' - maybe some on the Tobacco chew- like 'REDMAN' - some 70's boards games like 'Battleship' - 'Stay'in alive game' - some ideas...for thought..

Well, for what it's worth, I am 51 years old. When I looked through the OS2 titles there was just the one I could not identify the corresponding product (the TV dinners). I thought maybe it was a regional thing not
available here in the Midwest but my wife remembered it. So in my eyes, you hit a home run in terms of product familiarity. Along with that, we all have products we either enjoyed or felt some type of kin-ship with for whatever reason. There were certainly several of those in this release as well. I was a big Mr. Salty pretzel fan.

I was 14 when WPs started hitting the stores where I lived. Perhaps I am showing that I watched way too much TV, but I only remember a few times where my friends and I were stumped as to the actual product being spoofed in  the original series. Even at 14, we knew all the cigarette and liquor  brands from the television commercials and magazine ads (don't under-estimate the power that magazine advertising had back then). I would skim through my Mom's GOOD HOUSEKEEPING magazines when bored just to look for pictures and at adverts.  For example, I didn't even dream of ever wearing dentures at that age, but we were exposed to all the commercials for denture adhesives and cleansers and knew the brand names. The ones more likely to stump us were food items we were not familiar with... maybe foodstuffs for "older folks".

So perhaps I was the dream child of Madison Avenue and absorbed all the advertising thrown out there, but Wackies always seemed to be very tuned into my knowledge sphere of products. You have done an excellent job in keeping with that tradition with the OS2 release.

I recognize almost all of the products in this series, and I think most of the titles would have been really popular Wackys if issued back in the 70's.  I voted for probably half of the set.  Meltathon is my top pick, but there are some other really great titles!  B-B-Brats, Swine Bros. and Wedgie just totally brought me back in time.  And I love that lemon on Whylers!  The Ruin-Oleum can is awesome.  And Ping Pongs is too funny, with the 'play with your food' line.  Mr. Faulty was an instant hit with me as soon as I saw the promo.  Overall, I really like the stickers.

I also like the 5x7's with the extra gags - sort of like Wacky Ads.  And the concept cards were a great addition, always cool to see how a Wacky starts and progresses.  Jay's poster is fantastic, too.

Age 46 here so was just a kid when the 1st Wackys hit.  However, as someone noted above, I knew a lot of these from TV commercials, magazine ads and just being familiar with what was in our family pantries (ours, my aunt's, my grandparents').  I also paid a lot of attention when I went grocery shopping with my Mom.  While I spent a good bit of time on the cereal aisle picking out my choice for the week, I hit other aisles with her too.  Packaging and names always fascinated me.  Thus I knew more like 85% from the original run.

This discussion got me thinking so I grabbed an OS binder and leafed through. I tried to remember the ones I didn't recognize as a kid. It's funny how I can still remember not knowing what the product was, even if do know now.

I don't mean this as a slight to anyone, just an observation. I have been a Boy Scout Leader in one capacity or another for over 10 years now so have been around a lot of teen boys other than my own son. Boys aged 11 thru 17 are a weird lot. Some of them are very socially and geographically aware at a young age. By that I mean they are aware of current events in the news, where things are located in their town, familiar with shows on television, etc. In general, they have a larger world-view of things. Others are at the opposite extreme only focusing on school, home and video games. A very small scope of interests. You could take them 3 blocks from their house and they would have no clue where they are or how to return. Its a period of extremely large variation, even across the same age. Usually by age 17 or 18 things start evening out again. My only point to this is that I think you find some 15 years olds, for example who are very aware of things going on around them. There are probably the kids more likely to recognize something like products being parodies in a silly
sticker set. Other kids the same age haven't yet broadened their perspective and, although may have been
exposed to the same commercials, magazine ads, billboards, etc... these inputs just didn't click or leave an impression.

I notice the same thing when people mention the products they don't recognize. Referring back to OldS2, Pine Bros. cough drops were very popular around here but it seems plenty of people don't remember them.

As far as Scare Deal, I always loved that sticker and it was a title I could figure out, even if I didn't know the product. "Oh, it must be Square Deal." (I could also figure out others like Duz and Winchester.) Others were because we didn't have Ronzoni in my area, my mother didn't buy Sunshine products, there was no tobacco in my house, and I didn't drink yet.

Many of the products I did recognize were from TV ads, even if we didn't use them. That's how I knew of My Sin perfume, Lavoris, Chuck Wagon, Taster's Choice, etc. Magazine ads for Eve cigarettes and Virginia Slims were everywhere. Also, STP stickers were everywhere so I knew STD. (Which I still think was just a clever way to allude to sexually transmitted diseases...)

It's funny how I can still remember not knowing what the product was, even if do know now.

That is an interesting phenomenon (or is it phenomena?)

I clearly remember which Wacky titles were products I didn’t know about as a kid.

Now, ask me what I ate for dinner the night before last and I’ll be clueless!        :tongue3:

Nobody is going to vote for all 33 titles. Even if a few did it doesn't hurt anything. You're still going to get a higher count for the most popular titles. I could see doing a poll where everyone is allowed to vote for their single most favorite title but that shows up in this poll anyway. When I look through a set I can give every title a thumbs up or thumbs down.

So if ten people all vote for the same 10 titles as their "favorites", you aren't interested in finding out that 9 of the 10 of them like a particular title the most.  I can't really figure out what the heck you are hoping to learn from this to be honest.

I think we're finding that many of us don't remember a lot of these 70's products. It didn't matter to me as a kid. But as an adult I need to know the product. All I remember from the 70's is toys and candy. I want to see 80's products. There was only one Wacky series in the 80's so the decade is ripe.
I totally agree with you that 80's products will be more rememorable to us and ripe for the taking.  I too need know the original product otherwise the art and text better be spot on for me to "favorite" the title.  I favorited 15 titles in the survey.

Kids in the 70s didn't care if they knew the product, it was the goofy well done character and edgy tag lines.  As adults our desires have changed and it seems pretty clear that if people don't know the product, the wacky has a huge handicap.  You shouldn't assume that because you knew a product, that "most" would.  What process are you using to pick products?  Surveys of some sort, 1970s sales analysis of the products?  Best guess?  I am curious.

To get such refined results would require a poll that allows each voter to give a ranking for each title such as 1-5 stars. I don't need such detailed info. I just want to know the total thumbs up rating for each title and compare it to the total number of voters. I have use for the data of which I don't care to elaborate publicly. The President swore me to secrecy.

You lectured several people here about their approach to this people being self serving.  I think you owe them an apology.  You peer pressured brad into aligning this somewhat useless poll to your specific needs.  Since you strongly suggested the need for a real poll that you threatened to start yourself, i now agree that a real poll is needed as i am willing to bet the majority of collectors would be interested in some formm of real rankings and not movie ranking thumbs up, thumbs down.

BTW, that is also a point to again note concerning product recognition. We have people here from their late 30s up to mid 50s that are members. We are all coming at the 70s from different ages and "product recognition ability".

I start with me (aged 43) of course then move on to my wife (aged 42). I also utilize Fred and Jay (and Mark this series), the three editors  and Mike (ages 40-52), Ebay images, Google images and any blog postings, YouTube commercials, 70s fan sites, magazine ads from the era and lastly, from an older point of view my Dad (age 73). I also try to make sure the brands are not regional.

The lecture was about truthful voting. Before that, all I did was make a case for Brad to allow members to vote for ALL the titles they like, rather than just ten. For anyone who wants to know the top ten, it's there. For anyone who wants to know the ranking of every title, it's there. For those who don't care, move on. You can characterize my mention of starting another poll as a "threat" but I crafted several polls here including Old School 1. I was planning to start one for Old School 2 after everyone had time to sit down and get a good look at the series. Mine would have included all the bonus material as well. Information can always be of use. As for starting another poll, I suggest you start one that gives you whatever information you're looking for. I'm fine with this one. The software is rather limited. You might design a small poll as a test to see what can be done with it.

I finally remembered to bring my Old School 2 binder to my mom's house last night.  She loved the set, and the binder, too.  The only title she didn't recognize was Long & Slimy.  Swine Bros. was her favorite.  Meltathon, Wedgie, Palmolotov, Mr. Faulty and Ping Pongs also got laughs.

Reggie bar was one of my favorite candy bars. I wonder if it's still around under another name.

The yellow binders are really nice. I'm glad I didn't buy the first one. I wonder how many they plan to make. Do we really need a separate binder for each series?

The original tagline is much better and I realized the relevance of the severed hand when I read the tagline. It's a gruesome gag and it had balls before it was clipped. Now it's got one ball. What's the point of clipping one ball?

Nothing changed from the art to the sticker. It's all hand painted, no overlays. Most of the stuff I did for OLDS2 is all hand painted. Only a few have some overlays and I know how to put them down without them peeling up or shrinking so that would not be an issue anymore. If anyone has a question about which pieces have any overlays just LMK.

The gag started as Crazy Gnome which was done by Mark (he posted it in the Spoiler thread). Topps didn't like it so I changed it to Cranky Foam. Jay drew up the rough from my description and then I did a final rough from Jay's rough (they are virtually identical).

Yes, all the text on Palmolotov (and B-B-Bats) is painted. Here is the rundown of what is an overlay (though all overlays are painted over). I hope I remember all of them:

Aqua Hellva - logo
Croakaseptic - all text
Flunkies - the one side text only
Ka-Boo! - For No Talent Kids, Generally Mortified, bowl gag and Net Wt gag
Stinkin Legs - all text (I think)
Sue Mee - text in white area
Swine Bros - 14 Mudicated Drops
Wedgie! - Ouch, Contains 1 Yank and bottom gag
Stink Panther Flakes - bottom three gags

Lol... Yesterday was rainy and dreary here in Indiana, so I pulled out my GPK folders and had the trusty iPad at hand on eBay. I started going through my collection to fill some holes in my ANS and FB sets. Mainly just bonus cards, wrappers, and promos. I don't do all the variation borders, etc. on the Flashback sets. My son was giving me a hard time because I kept handing him cards to tell what those darn black numbers were on a dark scene. Little did I know my wife witnessed this before heading into town. When she returned she had bought an inexpensive set of jewels glasses (the kind you hold to one eye and that magnify to various powers).  Gotta a love a spouse that supports your habit. Now the jewelers glasses are a permanent fixture where I do my collecting doodling.

Those magnifiers are called "loupes".  I have a couple of those that I use for stamp collecting.  Another stamp collecting tool that I cross over to Wackys is a pair of stamp tongs.  They are great for pulling cards out of top loaders and even for putting them in.  I consider them a "must have" for handling delicate tan-back stickers.

Are the stamp-tongs better than a pair of tweezers?  That what I use for pulling expensive cards out.  I have loupes as well being in the print business.

Since the stamp tongs are for handling postage stamps, they are designed to handle thin paper items very delicately.  Most of them have flat, rounded tips for gripping the stamp.  Those flat tips slide really easily into a top-loader.

Thanks, I'll have to pick me up one of those!  I bet I can find one in the mall at the Philly show.  They have some stamp display I think.

Gotta a love a spouse that supports your habit.

All things considered, I’m surprised my wife buys me beer during her grocery trips!     :^)

Yeah, snub nosed tweezers can be helpful for WP collectors. As Busted mentioned, most of them have flat rounded tips for gripping the stamp, or in our case, the sticker.

Dang, our food stores do not have beer in NJ.

Seems to me that it would be risky using tweezers with the cards as one slip and there goes a nice tweezer indent mark in the card.

What happened with the vote? Who's on first? Has everyone voted?

Rofl...GPKs huh! I didn't open a can of worms by any chance when we were messaging and brought them up, mainly because of those tiny numbers! Yes, hubby drove himself crazy collecting all those variation borders! You didn't happen to see my Wacky Garbage card that I posted, did ya? Cute collectible fan card for Wacky and GPK lovers. Well, very nice of spouse to by that for you, what a great thought!

I don't think it was mentioned but Wyler's Lemonade is still on the market. I found some at a supermarket in Asheville, NC this weekend.
